Play synopsis: In TELLING LIVES, an elderly mother asks her grown daughter
to edit her newly written autobiography. The daughter responds by attempting
to edit her mother's life. The granddaughter, a playwright, has her own take
on the family history, something she's already shared on stage. Over the
course of a weekend, the three women discover the truth about memory: not
only is it imperfect, it hangs on by a thread.

Characters:

Geri Klein, 55. Copy editor at a weekly newspaper; divorced single mother;
hard-working, loyal. Can spot a misplaced comma from a mile away. Wears
sensible clothing.
Ruth Garver, 80. Geri's widowed mother, a career homemaker who married too
young. Survived life's challenges by playing games and keeping secrets.
Wears whatever it takes to keep up the facade.
Rachel Klein, 24. Geri's daughter, a playwright with one production under
her belt. Her clothes suggest youthful rebellion. Her seeming certainty
belies her self-doubt.

Production dates:  January 24 - February 5, 2012

Audition: Short monologue (max 2 minutes) is suggested but not required.
Will also read sides.
