AUDITION PREPARATION

Casting will be multiracial; Seeking African American, Caucasian, Hispanic, 
Asian, all nationalities are welcome. Please prepare two contrasting monologues 
memorized (comedy/drama) not exceeding five (5) minutes combined. OR you can 
read a monologue from the play that will be provided at the audition. Please 
bring a current, non-returnable headshot photo and Resume.

Saturday, September 17 from 11:00am - 1:00pm
Sunday, September 18 from 12:00pm - 2:00pm
 
Callbacks will be held on Tuesday, Sept 20, from 6:30 – 8:30

ABOUT THE PLAY
In this Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-Winning play, three patients diagnosed 
with terminal illness, each of whom live in separate cottages at a hospice 
facility, confront the ultimate human challenge and learn the value of life, 
laughter and courage as they struggle with their mortality and its effect on 
their loved ones.This compelling work implores us to live our lives to the 
fullest with courage,passion and dignity.(This production contains adult themes 
and language)
 
 
ROLES  AVALIABLE: (descriptions copied from published script)

THE INTERVIEWER - offering insight into the ill patients through questioning of 
there day to day living and family.
 
JOE -  ill patient, a blue collar guy, full of energy, seems well adjusted and 
excepting his condition, age 40's-50's Male.
 
STEVE - Joe's son, not aware of his father's illness, a teen.
 
MAGGIE - Joe's wife, in denial of Joe's illness, age 40's-50's
 
BRIAN - ill patient, bisexual English professor, very straightforward about his 
condition, age 30's-40's
 
MARK - Brian's live in partner who takes care of him, intelligent, attractive, 
age 20's-30's
 
BEVERLY - Brian's flamboyant ex-wife, extremely attractive and expensively 
dressed, age 30's-40's
 
AGNES - long struggling devoted daughter, 40's-50's 
 
FELICITY - ill patient, wheelchair bound, elderly and cantankerous, suffering 
from dementia, age 60's-70's.
. 
 
REHEARSALS
There will be 4-5 weeks of rehearsals spread out over a six week period. 
Rehearsals will be selected (based on availability of the cast) on evenings, and 
weekends, 3 - 6 times per week. 

 
COMPENSATION:Non-AEA actors will receive a stipend.
