A Murder, A Mystery & A Marriage

THE STORY: 
A first-class melodrama.  Shy Hugh Gregory loves Mary Gray, the prettiest girl in Deer Lick, Missouri.  A mysterious  stranger enters to win Mary’s love, and a disinheritance 
is announced, and  topping that, a murder is committed. It’s an evening package of romance,  comedy, mystery and music.

CHARACTERS
Women:
Sally Gray- 40s to 60s (Soprano)

Mary Gray- 20s to 30s John and Mary's daughter (In love with Hugh) (Alto/mezzo-soprano)

Men:
Clem & Reverend Jonathan Pervival Hurley- mid 30s to 60s (Baritone)

John Gray-mid 40s to 60s (Tenor)

David Gray & Sheriff Hiram P. Thwacker-40s to  70s (Bass)

Hugh Gregory- 20s to 30s Young fellow (In love with Mary) (Baritone/Bass)

The Stranger- 30s to 50s with an odd pan European accent (mostly Tenor but has a big range)

MUSICIANS also needed:
Fiddle
Upright Acoustic Bass
Banjo

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Audition Dates:  Monday, December 5 and Tuesday, December  6 at 7:30pm.  Auditions will be held at Clague Playhouse, 1371 Clague  Road, Westlake. 

Production Dates: March 9 - April 1, 2012 on  Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2pm.

Please
 bring an audition photo and résumé and a prepared song and sheet music.
   Auditioners will be asked to do cold readings from the script.

A perusal script is available at the Clague Playhouse Box Office for a $10 deposit through December 3, 2011.   Box Office hours are Wednesday - Saturday from 1-6pm.
