Announcing a staged reading of A BRIEF HISTORY OF MAH JONGG, by Cleveland
playwright FAYE SHOLITON. This one-act play was commissioned by the Maltz
Museum of Jewish Heritage to accompany the current exhibit "Project Mah
Jongg."
The play revisits an era when four friends shared gossip, offered advice
and kept secrets over the Mahj tiles. Twenty-two years after their game
mysteriously disbanded, the friends reunite to understand why. Elaine
Rembrandt directs an all-star female cast: Bernice Bolek, Ursula Cataan*,
Paula Duesing*, Lissy Gulick, Jacqi Loewy* and Rhoda Rosen.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 7 @ 7 p.m. and
SUNDAY, MARCH 18 @ 2 p.m., at the
Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, 2929 Richmond Road, Beachwood. Post-show
discussions follow each performance.
