"A Night in Provence" elicits 'laughter internationale' at CVLT -
    5/17/12

CHAGRIN FALLS, OH /- /Chagrin Valley Little Theatre knows a winning
formula, and the combination of farce playwright Robin Hawdon and
director Barbara L. Rhoades is a sure-fire mixture for laughs. When /A
NIGHT IN PROVENCE/ opens on June 1, it will be the third of Hawdon's
plays to appear in CVLT's June slot under Ms. Rhoades' direction,
including the wildly funny /Perfect Wedding /(2009) and /Don't Dress for
Dinner/ (2011).

Set in a getaway on the French Riviera, /A NIGHT IN PROVENCE/ is a
comedy of manners which appeared to rave reviews in the UK and Germany.
English couple Fred and Judy (Jerry Schaber and Sue Cohen), French
couple Maurice and Yvette (Adam Young and Natalie Dolezal), and Irish
couple Shaun and Moira (Scott Hommel and Erika Hansen) are all set for a
weekend of sun, sea, haute cuisine and romance when they find themselves
triple-booked! As if their cultural differences weren't enough to spark
comedy, the unlikely sextet happen to have plenty of sparkling champagne
on hand to loosen both tongues and inhibitions. Will their marriages
survive the day, the night, and the moonlit swimming pool on the terrace?

/A NIGHT IN PROVENCE/ plays on CVLT's main stage Friday and Saturday
nights at 8 PM, June 1 - 23. Tickets are $16 regular admission, $12 for
seniors and students. This comedy may not be appropriate for minors due
to adult themes.

For tickets and information see Chagrin Valley Little Theatre's website
at www.CVLT.org, or call 440-247-8955 (box office by phone Monday
through Saturday from 1-6 PM). CVLT is located at 40 River Street in
historic downtown Chagrin Falls.

Chagrin Valley Little Theatre is generously funded by Cuyahoga County
residents through Cuyahoga Arts and Culture and is supported by the Ohio
Arts Council.
