*THE PLAYERS GUILD THEATRE PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY *

*Opens Enrollment for its Summer Youth Workshop: Seussical Jr.*

CANTON, OH – Enrollment is now open for the Players Guild Theatre summer
production of *Seussical Jr.* for children ages 7-18.

Each production workshop takes place Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM – 3:00
PM, with before and after care available. Culminating in a final
production, each workshop teaches students how to put on a musical. They
will receive hands-on instruction from the Players Guild resident staff in
areas such as set design, costume construction, stage makeup, choreography,
music, and acting.

The* Seussical Jr. *workshop runs July 23-August 17. In this fantastical,
magical, musical extravaganza, Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen
Flaherty have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss
characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude
McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination--Jojo. "Oh,
the Thinks You Can Think" captures the show's spirit of imagination, as the
colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus
McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. *Seussical Jr.* is directed by
Lisa Belopotosky Knight, with Cassey Martin as Assistant Director, Adam J.
Ford as Choreographer, and Alison Foutz as Stage Manager. *Seussical
Jr.*performs in the William G. Fry Theatre August 17-19.

Students can enroll by contacting Carrie Alexander Spina at (330) 453-7619
ext. 515. Limited space is available. Tickets to these events can be
purchased by calling the Players Guild Theatre box office at (330) 453-7617
