Primary Purpose: To prove overall music and worship leadership in the
iConnect (modern worship) Services.
Church Overview: Located in Mentor, OH a community of 50,000 located 30
minutes east of Cleveland on Lake Erie. The church has 1500+ members and
averages 650+ in worship. It has two styles of worship: traditional and
modern. The modern worship services (iConnect) average around 300 people
between two services. The iConnect band is strong musically and spiritually
and there is a dynamic leadership team. Also, the church is in the process
of a building project to enhance and expand the ministries of the church.
Job Description:
1. Lead worship at the 9 & 11 am iConnect worship services.
2. Lead, recruit, and develop musicians for the worship band.
3. Schedule musicians through worshipplanning.com.
4. Run weekly rehearsals and provide creative and technical guidance with
the band.
5. Select music, develop worship sets, purchase and introduce new music.
6. Work with Lead Team and attend weekly meetings to develop worship (Media
Shout, visuals, dance, drama, video, stage design.)
Qualifications and Experience
1. Growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
a. Loves God. Knows the Holy Spirit.
b. Openness to United Methodist theology
2. Passion for Worship and Service
a. Experience with worship bands and modern worship
3. Music Skills
a. Preferably plays a lead instrument, reads music, and has strong vocals.
4. Adequate computer and tech skills (Worship Planning and Media Shout)
5. Leadership Abilities
a. Interpersonal and people skills
b. Strong communication skills and public speaking
c. Ability to work with unpaid servants
6. Ability to work well with pastoral staff and iConnect lead team.
7. Desire to grow both spiritually, leadership, and musically
Time Commitment: 10 – 15 hours a week possibility to expand in future
