The Performing Arts Academy classes begin the week ofSeptember 30th, enrollment starts August 4th 2013. Classes are held at the Players Guild Theatre, in Canton Ohio: 1001 Market Ave, North.

Fall classes begin September 30, Winter begin February 10, and Spring begin March 31, 2014.

Fundamentals of Theatre for All Ages
All classes meet once per week for seven weeks, Kinderdrama is designed for your student to take all three sessions.

Stage 1
 
 
Kinderdrama (Ages 4-6) 
This class is where our littlest stars are born! Your kindergarten aged child will sing, dance, and bring to life magical characters all in a creative environment! Kinderdrama is a 21 week program meeting once per week for 45 minutes.

Time: Wednesdays & Thursdays at 5:30
Time: Saturdays at  12:00 & 1:00
Cost: $200 for 21 weeks (all three sessions)
Teaching Artist: Cassey Martin & Taylor Scott
 
Children at Play (Ages 7-9) 
This class is an introduction to theatre. Students will learn the fundamentals of theatre while getting ready for the stage! Through theatre games students will learn areas of the stage, voice, characterization, becoming an ensemble, and much more.

Time: Mondays at 6:00
Cost: $90

Let’s Learn About Acting (Ages 10+)
This class is designed for teens and adults who are curious about theatre and need to learn the fundamentals first. If you think theatre sounds like fun and would like to make friends while learning what this acting thing is all about, this is the class for you!

 STAGE 2

Discovering Musical Theatre 
& 
Characterization
These classes require a prerequisite from Stage 1
 
Show Time 1 (Ages 7-9)
Showtime is a class that is geared toward getting  your students ready for a production. Your students will learn how to be part of a cast from auditions through tech week. Classes will explore musical preparation and performance. The last class has a showcase performance for friends and family to view at the end of each session.

Show Time 2  (Ages 7-9)  
This class is geared for your student who has taken the Showtime 1 class in the past and is ready to progress and learn more about musical theatre and acting. We will explore more than the production and dive into characterization and making your performance believable and interesting!

Auditioning for Musicals (Ages 10 +)
This class is for acting students who are curious about musicals and love to sing. It will help your student select the proper material for auditions and will strengthen their individual performance level needed to become a competitive musical theatre actor. Each student will gain confidence through group singing activities selected from popular Broadway musicals.

Improv Acting and Performance (Ages 13-+)
Great for the aspiring film or stage actor, this class will provide teens and adults with training in improvisation and its use in actor training, character development, scene studies and play rehearsal. This class will develop the student’s ability to act with spontaneity and become a team player in a creative environment.

Time:  Thursdays at 6:00
