AN EVENING OF MYSTERY AND MUSIC-

A TRIBUTE TO EDGAR ALLAN POE

Fundraising evening for The Friends of Eldred Theatre, Nov 4 at 7:00 pm at Nighttown.

On November 4, 2013 at 7:00 pm the 3RD YEAR CASE WESTERN RESERVE UNIVERSITY/CLEVELAND PLAY HOUSE MFA ACTING ENSEMBLE will present AN EVENING OF MYSTERY AND MUSIC- A Tribute to Edgar Allan Poe by Donald Carrier as a fundraiser for the Friends of Eldred Theater (The FOETS) at NIGHTTOWN 12387 Cedar Road.
In the spirit of Halloween, the evening will consist of readings from Poe's works as well as songs that echo or contrast with his themes. The evening will feature the graduating class of the CWRU/CPH MFA Acting Program: Therese Anderberg, Bernard Bygott, Drew Derek, TJ Gainley, Sarah Kinsey, Christa Meyers and Stephen Michael Spencer.
The evening will be directed by CWRU/CPH MFA Acting Program Director, Ron Wilson and Musical Direction is by Brian Cluff who has composed original incidental music to complement the readings.
The Friends of Eldred Theater is a longtime support organization for the theatre department at Case Western Reserve University and has been instrumental in providing funds for students, both graduate and undergraduate, to continue studies in areas and disciplines that they are interested in: recent bursaries allowed students to study voice-over technique, audio-book recording, stunt work and acrobatics, singing and the Michael Chekhov Technique.

Since 1996, Cleveland Play House has partnered with Case Western Reserve University to offer a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting. In 2003, it became a conservatory program completely housed at Cleveland Play House. Every two years, the CWRU/CPH MFA Acting Program accepts a class of eight actors into its three-year program. All three years are spent in residency at Cleveland Play House, providing students with unique access to its new downtown Cleveland state-of-the-art facilities and the professional expertise of its staff. Program graduates include Rich Sommer (Mad Men, Harvey), Elizabeth A. Davis (Once - Tony Award Nomination, The 39 Steps), Tom Degnan (The Good Wife), and Andrew Gorell (The Lion King).
It promises to be an evening of suspense, surprise and humor. Please join us!
Reservations can be made by calling Nighttown, 216- 795-0550.
