The auditions for Crazy Man will be an open call.  Actors please signed in by 7:00 PM.

Crazy Man, by Michael Oatman, is a play commissioned by Weathervane Playhouse specifically for our John L. Dietz Black Box Theater. The performances will be a world premiere.

Akil/Skills – African American Male, 20s

Twon – African American Male, 20s

Frederick/Black Business Man/Cowlings – African American Male, 50s

Guard/White Business Man – White Male, 50s

Spencer – White Male, 20s

 

Synopsis

A man traces back the incidents that lead him to committing a horrible crime.

 

WHAT TO PREPARE FOR THESE AUDITIONS

Auditions will consist of readings from the script. A script is available at the Weathervane Box Office for perusal at the Playhouse. Box Office hours are:

Mondays from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Tuesdays – Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

 

REHEARSALS

Rehearsals begin Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 7 p.m.

Rehearsals continue Sundays through Thursdays at 7 p.m.

There will be no rehearsal on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve or New Years Day

 

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Jennifer Kay Jeter

Trained as a performance artist, Jeter often collaborates with traditional artists or with non traditional partners including social service organizations to create curriculum, programming and theatrical works in order to spotlight societal concerns such as homelessness, substance abuse and sexual abuse. Ms. Jeter previously directed for Weathervane Playhouse productions of Race, Flyin’ West and Yellowman.


AMY HERZOG'S "4000 MILES" OPENS WEDNESDAY 

Play About Two Outsiders Finding Their Way in a Complicated World Is Staged in Weathervane’s Intimate Dietz Theater

4000 Miles plays for 10 performances in Weathervane Playhouse’s John L. Dietz Theater between Nov. 5 and 15, 2014. (The Dietz Theater is Weathervane Playhouse’s intimate, 48-seat “second stage” within its Weathervane Lane facility.)

Performance days and times are Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 9 at 2:30 p.m. Additionally, there will be one Saturday matinee on Nov. 15 at 2:30 p.m.

 Tickets for all performances of the play are $18 each. Tickets for college students are $5 each. The 48-seat Dietz Theater features general-admission seating only. Due to adult language and situations, the play is not recommended for children.

FRED GLOOR - DIRECTOR is a member of the theater faculty at Baldwin Wallace University and Tri-C West. A graduate of Kent State University, Fred’s directing credits include Cleveland Public Theatre, Dobama, TitleWave, Charenton, Second City Cleveland, CVLT, and Tri-C West. As an actor, he has performed at Cleveland Play House, Great Lakes Theater, Dobama Theatre, Beck Center, Cain Park, Second City Cleveland, Ensemble Theatre, and as a cast member of Something Dada. A member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA, he has appeared in numerous commercials and such films as The Dream Catcher, and Pirates with Leslie Nielsen, Eric Idle, and Rodney Dangerfield.
