FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Rabbit Run Theater and Lake Erie College hold
auditions for "The Elephant Man"

As part of the 2015 - 2016 collaborative season, The Studio Series, Lake
Erie College Department of Theatre and Rabbit Run Theater announce open
auditions for the upcoming production of "The Elephant Man", written by
Bernard Pomerance and directed by Brint Learned, executive director of
Rabbit Run Community Arts Association.

Auditions are Tuesday, Dec. 1, and Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. both nights
at the Royce Hall for the Fine and Performing Arts on the campus of Lake
Erie College. Callbacks are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m.

"The Elephant Man" is based on the life of John Merrick, a horribly deformed
young man who, in the late 1800's, had become a freak attraction in
traveling side shows. Under the care of Frederick Treves, Merrick slowly
evolves from an object of pity to become a favorite of the London
aristocracy. Winner of numerous Tony Awards including Best Play, "The
Elephant Man" is performed by an ensemble cast playing multiple roles.

Auditions will consist of readings from the script. No monologue need be
prepared. The role of John Merrick has been cast.

Performance dates are Feb. 26 through Feb. 28 and Mar. 3 through Mar. 6,
2016, at the C.K. Rickel Theatre in the Royce Hall for the Fine and
Performing Arts on the campus of Lake Erie College, 391 West Washington St.,
Painesville, OH. Access to the theater is off of Gillette St. in
Painesville.
