Stow Players Presents Levitation

Humor and pathos are mixed in the Stow Players' winter
production, Levitation, a dramedy by Timothy Mason, as the Players continue
their 62nd year of quality community theater at the Heritage Barn in Stow's
Silver Springs Park. A homecoming/memory play, Levitation opens Friday,
January January 22, 2016, and runs through Saturday, February 6.

Levitation is set in the year 1979. Disillusioned Joe Dahl
(Brian Westerley of Akron) comes home to Minneapolis from New York City,
where he earned his living as a newspaper headline writer and spent his
spare time writing morbid plays. On his first night back, Joe returns from
an evening of clubbing and dancing at 2:30 a.m. and is surprised when his
father (Richard Szczepinski of Mantua) appears from the darkness of the
garden, where he has been quietly scanning the August skies for meteor
showers. He then encounters his mother Ada (Lorena Goold of Stow), his
sister Jean (Anna-Jeannine K. Herman of Akron), his nephew Michael (William
Landis of Cuyahoga Falls), and a host of other characters played by Cristy
Wright of Copley, Mason Shuman of Kent, Dave Hinebaugh of West Akron, and
Charlie Pierce of Akron. Everyone Joe meets on his family's back porch or
back yard show him the healing power of miracles, and they teach him - with
a mixture of comedy and drama - to face his life with a new kind of
strength.

Alex J. Nine of Akron is the director of Levitation; Kendra
Schaefer of Cuyahoga Falls is stage manager. Props are being handled by Stow
Players president/treasurer Pat Robertell-Hudson; lights and sound by Bill
Morgan; set design and construction by Tom Marshall.

Levitation opens on Friday, January 22, 2016, and runs for three
weekends, through February 6. Friday and Saturday performances are at 8:00
pm, and there is one Sunday matinee, January 31, at 2:30 pm. Ticket prices
are $13 for General Admission and $10 for Senior Citizens and students.
Tickets are paid with cash or check only.

All Stow Players productions are the Heritage Barn in Stow's
