Hiring Immediately; Training Starts the First Week of January

Job Description
The Box Office Assistant is responsible for making patrons & prospective patrons feel welcomed and excited about their CPT experience while maximizing revenue from the sale of tickets, and for providing general reception duties. The Box Office Assistant reports to the Box Office Manager. Employee assists with the management of an efficient box office operation. Employee must frequently exercise independent judgment and initiative. This job is about 20 - 26 hours/week on evenings and weekends. The pay starts at $8.50/hour.

Overall Responsibilities

*         Provide the Best Possible Patron Experience

1)     In a cheerful manner, help generate excitement about CPT productions to patrons and prospective patrons.

2)     Communicate general organizational information, production details and neighborhood destinations of interest to patrons.

3)     Sell tickets via phone and in person for productions at Cleveland Public Theatre.

4)     Attend dress rehearsals to effectively promote plays to audiences.

5)     Follow and maintain the high standards of CPT's customer care policy



*         Manage Box Office Transactions

1)     Follow correct cash-out procedures and reconciling takings.

2)     Generate box office reports.

3)     Perform reception duties for the building as needed.

4)     Input sales data into QuickBooks.



*         Maximize Ticket Sales

1)     Collect audience data from ticket sales for marketing purposes.

2)     Participate in marketing initiatives and promotions.

3)     Upsell regular ticket sales into subscriptions.


Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience and qualities:


*         Enjoys speaking with people from diverse backgrounds

*         Available to work evening and weekend shifts

*         A genuine interest in the arts

*         Excellent communication skills

*         Honest and reliable

*         Able to self manage

*         Able to work efficiently in a fast paced environment

*         Previous experience with database or customer service programs

*         Experience with ticketing software a plus

*         Basic knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel a plus

*         Cash handling and reconciling experience

*         Ability to remain calm while working under pressure
