Boesel Musical Arts Center, 49 Seminary St., Berea. Seeking new members (college students and men from the community) to join 100-member group, to perform five concerts, sing the national Anthem at an Indians game, and sing a live Christmas-season performance on WCLV during the 2015-2016 season (late August to Early May). Auditions 5-10 PM Monday May 4th or otherwise by appointment. Email director Frank Bianchi at fbianchi(a)bw.edu. Previous musical experience and sight reading skills are preferred. Come prepared with a classical (art) song or Broadway piece that shows your vocal range (accompanist provided). The audition will include vocalizing, pitch matching, and sight reading. Rehearsals are 7-9 PM during the BW school year. Annual fee $50 for students and $150 for community members. Some scholarships are available. CPT now accepting applications for the 2015/2016 Nord Playwright Fellowship

CPT's Nord Playwright Fellowship Application Deadline: June 1st, 2015 CPT's Nord Playwright Fellowship is a year-long program for a local emerging playwright supported by the Nord Family Foundation. CPT initiated this program to provide greater support to the region's playwright community and to nurture active artists. Up to two residencies may be awarded in 2015, which includes a $2,000 stipend for the playwright, development support and a workshop production. Please note that CPT is investing over $15,000 in staff time, support and direct costs associated with the residency. Based on writing samples and one complete play, we will select a playwright with extraordinary potential. This resident artist will be given space at the theatre to write, create and rehearse work. Additionally, the program provides access to CPT's artistic staff and is eligible for the theatre's development programming. The residency is also an opportunity to be on site at CPT over the course of the year, interacting with and learning from designers, actors, directors and other writers. Eligibility * Applicant must be a resident of Northeast Ohio. * Applicant cannot be a Full-Time Student * Applicant must have significant available time to work on major artistic projects. Rehearsals and other commitments are typically in the evenings and on weekends. The obligations of this fellowship will make it difficult to have outside artistic projects. Selection Criteria We are not looking for the most accomplished playwright, rather an early-career playwright, someone who has demonstrated ability and extraordinary potential, but is still defining their voice as a playwright. This program is open to playwrights who work in a variety of processes including directing/devising playwrights and conventional writers of scripts. We want to have the largest impact on the community as possible, so we are looking for a playwright who is at the "right time" in his/her growth to most benefit from the residency. We are looking for someone who is hungry for experiences as a playwright and also is enthusiastic about being an active member of our community at CPT. Applications will be reviewed by CPT's artistic staff and collaborators. The first round of reading will be facilitated blind - without applicants' names. During round one, only "Writing Sample A" will be read. This sample must include a script and should be the applicant's best and most complete work. For playwrights whose work extends beyond the page, video samples will be allowed in addition to the script. Rounds two and three will be conducted with the applicant's name attached. "Writing Sample B", will be reviewed by the panel if selected to move on to rounds two and three. Interviews will be held with the finalists. The Manhattan Project is a low-stakes, nonthreatening place for actors and playwrights to meet and work together. Based on the Theatre Lab model taught at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama and inspired by The Brooklyn Generator in New York, The Manhattan Project wants to introduce Cleveland actors and playwrights to each other by organizing a bi-monthly production of brand new 10-minute plays. Participating artists will meet early in the month and will be broken into teams, each with one playwright. The playwright will then be given a writing prompt to write a new 10-minute play based on the prompt and including all the team's actors. The rest of the evening the team members will get to know each other and get a feel for each other's skills and voices. The teams will reconvene later in the month to perform these plays for each other. These 10-minute plays are not an end in themselves. Through these small collaborations we hope to build relationships between the two most vulnerable artists in theatre; the actors who put themselves on stage and the playwrights who pour themselves onto the page. Perhaps these 10-minute plays will grow into longer works or maybe these collaborations will become partnerships on larger projects. Videographer Needed!

I am looking for a videographer. My mother has aggressive Lymphoma and I am looking for a videographer in the Akron area that could go to the events that her 5 grandkids are in for the remaining part of the school year (track meets, dance, choir concert, etc). They go to the following schools: CVCA, Green and Jackson. She is not interested in watching movies while getting chemo treatments. She just wants to see the things they are in. She never misses and it is really upsetting her that she will not be able to go. You would just have to film them and put them on YouTube or something for her to view. No editing needed. (Thurs.- Saturdays @ 7:30pm and Sundays @ 2:30pm) Synopsis: The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones she has a profound effect upon. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it."
