Looking for a male actor on Thursday night 8 PM till possibly 1 AM, for a Short called "Behind", a horror piece. We are renting equipment and really want to run it to the ground to test it. We have the Ronin Stabalizer, plan is to make 1 solid take throughout the short. It is a non-union,paid job. Great to network and meet the local crew for Cleveland, and provide reel footage. Food will be provided. Needed is a Male early-mid 20's, will be playing the Killer. As well as a Male early-mid 20's, will be playing dead husband. REGISTER TODAY! CMA provides acting students with the opportunity to discover, nurture and explore their own uniqueness and merge that into the script to stand out on the set or on stage. The classes are centered around The Sanford Meisner Technique. Meisner training is an interdependent series of exercises that build upon one another. The more complex work supports a command of dramatic text. Meisner students work on a series of progressively complex exercises to develop an ability to improvise, to access an emotional life, and finally to bring the spontaneity of improvisation and the richness of personal response to text. This is what is commonly known as "method acting." Through the Meisner system, the actor becomes fearless and gains a strong confidence that can be applied to all areas of life. The four week class helps the young actor develop a love for the work, and with this, the ability to survive and work as an actor. Cleveland Play House (CPH) is casting children ages 7-12, of all races and ethnicities, for its production of A Christmas Story, directed by John McCluggage. All positions are paid. Auditions are by appointment only. For GIRLS: Auditions will be held FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18th from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm. (Callbacks SATURDAY, SEPT. 19th) For BOYS: Auditions will be held SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19th from 10:00am-6:00pm. FINAL CALLBACKS: will be held on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20th from 12:00-2:00pm. Auditions will take place in CPH's rehearsal spaces, located on the fifth floor of the Middough Building, at 1901 E. 13th Street in Downtown Cleveland. Performers will audition with sides from the script, which will be sent when an appointment is set. Please note that children who will be 13 or older on 12/23/15 are ineligible to audition Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, November 3rd, and will be held after school and on weekends, Tuesday-Sunday. The week of November 23rd rehearsals will be during school hours. There will be no rehearsal on Thanksgiving Day. Performances are 8 shows a week from Nov. 27th - Dec. 23rd. Children will miss part or all of nine school days for rehearsal and performances. Characters: Ralphie - (9-12) Obsessed with planting the seeds to assure the ultimate Christmas present: a genuine Red Ryder BB gun. Has a wild imagination, is unsure of his feelings for Esther Jane, and is persistent, curious, and dramatic. Flick - (9-12, any race/ethnicity) One of Ralphie's best friends. A follower who is easy to pick on. Can't resist the triple dog dare and gets his tongue stuck to a lamppost. Has a sore arm. Also plays a Desperado. Schwartz - (9-12, any race/ethnicity) Another of Ralphie's buddies. He likes trouble. He's a little more on the ball than Flick and gets him to do things he probably shouldn't. Also plays a Desperado. Esther Jane -(9-12, any race/ethnicity) Has a crush on Ralphie. Sweet, girly and likeable. Best friends with Helen. Helen - (9-12, any race/ethnicity) Smartest girl in class. Likes to talk politics and gossip. Best friends with Esther Jane. Randy - (7-10) Ralphie's mischievous little brother who has a true fascination with Santa. Has to use the restroom at inopportune times. Ability to focus and to be still a plus. On Friday, July 10th be a part of a great event to be featured in a 2016 photo exhibit. Come to Loop @2180 W 11th St, Cleveland, OH 44113 in Tremont to have your photo taken at no cost. The time will be from 6 pm - 8:30 pm. Be a part of CLE: Through the Lens, in which photos of Clevelanders will be featured in a 2016 photo exhibit alongside one-line quotes and anecdotes. With hundreds of color and black and white photos, including exclusive portraits, CLE: Through the Lens will be a stunning collection of images that showcase the outsized personalities of the people of Cleveland starting in historic Tremont.
