*The Dark Room at CPT on October 11th! * *This month: Featured Reading of Horatio by Greg Mandryk and Open Mic! * The Dark Room is a place where writers take center stage and their work has a chance to grow. The Dark Room is an ongoing event held on the second Tuesday of each month. The Dark Room affords emerging and veteran playwrights the space and resources to develop new works. It offers a venue to workshop plays, novels, poems, or any other written work in a supportive, yet critical environment. *Tuesday, October 11th* The Church at CPT (Just east of the Gordon Square Theatre Box Office) Cleveland Public Theatre 6407 Detroit Ave, Cleveland, OH 44102 *7:00pm: *Sign-up begins for writers and actors (space is limited). Male actor needed Thursday for short film

Looking for a male actor on Thursday night 8 PM till possibly 1 AM, for a Short called "Behind", a horror piece. We are renting equipment and really want to run it to the ground to test it. We have the Ronin Stabalizer, plan is to make 1 solid take throughout the short. It is a non-union,paid job. Great to network and meet the local crew for Cleveland, and provide reel footage. Extremely protective aboutkeeping her sisters away from the outside world, which puts her in directopposition to Deloris and her musical teachings. D3 to E5 Curtis: African American Male, 30s-40s; A clubowner, notorious gangster, and Deloris's boyfriend. Cocky and controlling,always on the verge of violence. A2 to Ab4 Eddie Souther: African American Male, mid 20s toearly 40s; The desk chief at the Philadelphia police station and a high schoolclassmate of Deloris who helps get her into hiding. Faces a lot of nerves whenunder pressure, causing him to sweat profusely. He still yearns for Delorisafter all these years, and dreams of being her hero. Strong Belt. Ab2 to B4 Sister Mary Robert: Female, 16-20s; A postulant,abandoned as a baby and raised at the convent. Shy and soft-spoken, but singingwith Deloris lets her find her voice. Her wallflower lifestyle has made herlive a shell of a life. Strong Belt. F#3 to A5 Sister Mary Patrick: Female, late 20s-late 40s; Anun of the convent. Consistently perky, “glass is always half full”,enthusiastic, and easily excitable. Monsignor O’hara: Male, late 30s-60s; One of theheads of the convent. Constantly concerned with financial matters, though soulmusic surprisingly puts him in a different mood. E3 to G4 Sister Mary Lazarus: Female, late 20s-late 60s; Anun of the convent and the head of the choir. Rather deadpan and the leastwelcoming of any of the nuns, but she gets caught up in Deloris's performancestyle. Raps. F3 to B4. TJ: African American Male, late Teens – 30s;Curtis's nephew and one of his thugs. Deft and cognizant of the fact,constantly in a state of ignorant bliss. Db3 to Eb5 Joey: Male, 20s-40s; One of Curtis's thugs.Believes himself to be quite the ladies' man. Bb2 to Eb5 Pablo: Male, 20s-40s; One of Curtis's thugs. Anatural follower, constantly speaks in Spanish. C4 to F5 Ernie: Male, 20s-40s; One of Curtis's thugs.Initially thought to be a mindless yes-man, he turns out to be an undercoverpolice informant. Sister Mary Martin-of-tours: Female, 20s-50s; Anun of the convent. Clearly in her own world, “a few bubbles off”, but has hermoments of surprising clarity. Sister Mary Theresa: Female, 40s-early 70s; A nunof the convent, the oldest of the group. Decrepit at a glance, but secretlypacks a punch. Michelle: Female, 20s-40s; One of Deloris'sback-up singers. Lippy and always quick with a retort. Bb3 to F5 Tina: Female, 20s-40s; One of Deloris's back-upsingers. A little thick-headed and naive.
