BTOTS Presents Evita

Brecksville Theater On The Square proudly announces the second mainstage production of its 41st season: Evita. Evita is a rock opera written by Andrew Lloyd Webber (music) and Tim Rice (lyrics) about the life of Argentine political leader Eva Peron, the wife of President Juan Peron. The story chronicles Evita's early life, rise to power and fame, her charity work and eventual premature death. It has won both Olivier and Tony Awards for best musical, among many other accolades. Directed by Ian Atwood and music directed by Heidi Herczeg, this story is brought to life by some of the area's finest talent. Show times are as follows: June 5th-7th, 12th-14th and 19th-20th. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30, with Sunday matinees at 2:00. Performances will be held at the Old Town Hall theater on Public Square in Brecksville, at the corner of Ohio Routes 21 and 82. The theater is handicapped-accessible. Tickets are $14 available online at www.btots.org, or at the door. There is no service charge for buying tickets online. Seating for all shows is reserved. Evita is presented in cooperation with Rodgers & Hammerstein Musicals, New York, NY. For further information regarding this production, please see the BTOTS website. If you are involved with sound for your theater or house of worship, or for recording in either a studio or in the field, or with sound for video production, you will be interested in these items. To start, I have available for sale a pair of Audio Technica model U873R microphones. These are the handheld microphones that are part of their long time popular Unipoint line of microphones. When purchased from the factory, these are equipped with elements featuring a hypercardioid pickup pattern (very directional). But the elements can easily be changed, and I also have available a pair of the model UE-C elements which provide a cardioid pickup pattern (still directional, but not as tight of a pattern), AND a pair of the model UE-O elements, which provide an omnidirectional pickup pattern (non directional). In summation, available are the 2 microphones equipped with hypercardioid elements, 2 of the cardioid elements, and 2 of the omnidirectional elements. With all of these items, you have a pair of microphones that can be hypercardioid, cardioid, or omnidirectional. All items are in LIKE NEW condition. (It should be noted that the microphones require external phantom power.) Please feel free to contact me and I will e-mail you more information concerning the microphones. About the Summer Theatre CAMPs “Children are at their most creative when they are invited to see the world as their own giant playground." This is the philosophy of Wandering Aesthetics’ Storyteller and Education Director, Kyle Jozsa. He gives children the opportunity to create and tell their stories in a fun and safe environment. Jozsa will introduce the students to important theatrical concepts including stage presence, character creation and teamwork. Together, using basic fairytale story structure, Jozsa and his classes will create and present their own story. Each two-week long summer camp will introduce students to the basics of live performance. In the morning, in his engaging style, Jozsa will teach students the fundamentals of theatre. In the afternoon, students will collaborate to craft a fairy tale of their choosing in an atmosphere of cooperation and playfulness, culminating in a final performance for friends and family. Students should bring a brown bag lunch. About the Instructor: Drawing on a work ethic derived from his path to Eagle Scout, Kyle Jozsa co-founded the physically oriented theatre company, Wandering Aesthetics. Kyle serves as Wandering Aesthetics’ Co-Artistic Director, Education Director and primary Storyteller. His responsibilities include: shaping the vision of the company, devising and performing new pieces of theatre and designing, implementing and teaching curricula. Kyle participated in an intensive summer training program at Double Edge Theatre in Asheville, MA. He recently made the transition to solo performer with Wandering Aesthetics’ “Mountain Cycle” – a series of 3 one-man performances about his hike of the 2,186-mile Appalachian Trail. Kyle has been teaching children ages 2 - 14 for the past 5 years; they constantly inspire him. One of the most significant influences throughout Kyle’s life journey has been his personal training and study of the actor’s craft.
