DON’T DRESS FOR DINNER A naughty comedy farce about friendship, relationships, and love Directed by Maureen Dempsey June 5th – June 21st East Cleveland Theater Fridays & Saturdays 8pm Sundays 3pm Cast: Bernard: Anthony T. Mittelo, Richard Phillis Jacqueline: Heidi Dill, Kate Starling Robert: Lenny Harris, Steve Miller Suzanne: Rhonda Kisel Suzette: Govanna Miller George: Greg Cunningham This boulevard comedy was a smash hit in Paris, where it played for over two years, and in London, where it ran for six years at the Apollo and Duchess Theaters. It has since played in theaters all over the USA and the English speaking world and is due for revival in London in 2013. Bernard is planning a romantic weekend with his chic Parisian mistress in his charming converted French farmhouse, whilst his wife, Jacqueline, is away. He has arranged for a cordon bleu cook to prepare gourmet delights, and has invited his best friend, Robert, along too to provide the alibi. It's foolproof; what could possibly go wrong? Well.... suppose Robert turns up not realizing quite why he has been invited. Suppose Robert and Jacqueline are secret lovers, and consequently determined that Jacqueline will NOT leave for the weekend. Suppose the cook has to pretend to be the mistress and the mistress is unable to cook. Suppose everyone's alibi gets confused with everyone else's. An evening of hilarious confusion ensues as Bernard and Robert improvise at breakneck speed.

Camp Jukebox 2015

We are now taking applications for Camp Jukebox 2015 “Moving to the Movies”. Camp is a week long performing arts day camp for individuals with developmental disabilities age 10-20 years old. Camp is the last week in July – July 27 –31, 2015 from 9:00 am till 3:00 pm daily. Camp will be held at GentleBrook Center in Hartville, Ohio. A performance for family and friends will be held Friday afternoon of camp week at GentleBrook. A public performance will be help Friday evening of camp week at The Historic Warehouse on the Canal in Canal Fulton, Ohio. Campers must be available for all days of camp and both performances. Cost is $75. (scholarships are available). No transportation will be provided. Campers must bring a sack lunch. Registration deadline is July 10, 2015. Free "The Life of Timon of Athens" Performance by Cleveland Shakespeare Festival at LCCC The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival will hold a free performance of "The Life of Timon of Athens" at 7 p.m., Sunday, June 21 at Lorain County Community College's Stocker Arts Center. The performance will be held in the outdoor amphitheater (inclement weather location will be Stocker Cinema Hall). The play follows Timon, who was the most admired man on campus -- and generous to a fault. Betrayed by his friends, Timon abandons civilization and goes "back-to-the-land." As unrest grows in Athens, both sides appeal for his help. Set at a certain state university in 1970 against a backdrop of unpopular war and student unrest, "The Life of Timon of Athens" is a hilarious history of hip hypocrisy. An American Family openson June 19 at SALT Box Life for Jack Van Wert, recently divorced at the age ofsixty, and for Janice Loeffler, recently jilted at the altar at the age oftwenty two, could not get any worse. Orso they thought. On a fateful night,Jack, thinking he is going to meet a forty five year old woman on a blind date,and Janice, thinking she is going to meet a twenty eight year old man also on ablind date, come to Petra and Scott Thomas’ apartment for dinner only todiscover that Scott got the days mixed up. Jack was supposed to be the next night and not that night. Furious over being matched together, theyleave the apartment without dinner. Whenthey cool off at the elevator, Jack offers to buy Janice a sandwich at a localrestaurant he frequents. What happensnext starts as one character states in the play, a new life and a newrelationship. This comedy which explores numerous modern social issuesis written by David Van Gaasbeek. Afterhis mother died in 2012, Mr. Van Gaasbeek to cope with the grief began writinga play based on a discarded improvisational skit in which a blind date isbotched. What comes forward is how afamily totally destroyed by divorce rebuilds itself entirely through a newrelationship. The play deals withvarious adult themes through comedy and parents are cautionedto contact Mr.Van Gaasbeek at 330-494-1022 or 330-854-4387 to discover if the issues areappropriate for their child. For those over the age of thirteen, beprepared to laugh as Jack and Janice go through some very interesting events intheir lives as they and their families come to grip with the results of abotched blind date. Looking for rural a rural gas-station and a truck to complete filming for Night of the Living Dead: Rebirth!

"Night of the Living Dead: Rebirth" began shooting in the fall of last year and is now about 90% of the way completed. In order to finish the film, we will need to secure one very important location (a rural gas-station) and a pivotal prop (an old pickup truck). The gas-station can be wrapped in one to two days/nights and will see very little action. The truck, however, can ideally be scrapped following the production. This is because, if we get exactly what we want here, we will be able to blow the vehicle up. Review of Mamai Theatre's "Three Sisters"

Mamaí mines 'Three Sisters' for meaning and finds the mother lode Bob Abelman Cleveland Jewish News, The News Herald, The Morning Journal Member, International Association of Theatre Critics Master adapter Aaron Posner, who modernized Chaim Potok's "The Chosen" to create "My Name is Asher Lev," recently wrote and staged irreverent versions of Anton Chekhov's "The Seagull" (re-titled "Stupid F-ing Bird") and "Uncle Vanya" (re-titled "Life Sucks"). Set in modern times rather than the late-19th century, Posner's take-offs on Chekhov are pumped with adrenaline, contemporary references, and plenty of profanity. "What he was doing then [the elliptical exchanges between characters, the paradoxical presentation of tragedy and satire, the excessive realism] was radical and revolutionary and exciting," Poster noted in an American Theatre interview. "Doing Chekhov a hundred years later is the opposite of that." Mamaí Theatre has chosen to go old school in its current production of Chekhov's "Three Sisters." And while this staging is neither radical nor revolutionary, it is most certainly exciting, for director Bernadette Clemens finds all the inescapably dark and often very funny moments in this four-act, three-hour masterwork.
