Talespinner Children’s Theatre (TCT), located at 5209 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44102, in Cleveland’s vibrant Gordon Square Arts District, is pleased to announce Family Day at the Theatre featuring three performances of our educational outreach production, Peter and the Wolf. There will also be family-friendly activities between shows including face painting, a meet-and-greet with the characters and puppets as well as engaging science experiments presented by the The Children's Museum of Cleveland, joining TCT while they are in transition between their former home in University Circle to their future home at 3813 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44115 (In Midtown). WHEN Wednesday, July 20th, 2016 Performances at 11AM, 1PM, and 4PM. Activities will begin after the 11AM performance and continue throughout the day excepting performance times. The theatre and all activities will close at 5:30PM. WHERE Talespinner’s home in the Reinberger Auditorium 5209 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44102 In the vibrant Gordon Square Arts District WHAT About "Peter and the Wolf" Inspired by the playful, beloved work composed by Sergei Prokofiev to introduce children to classical music, Peter and the Wolf explores a story of friendship and extraordinary bravery. Adapted by Cleveland-based playwright Greg Vovos and directed by TCT’s Director of Education Katelyn Cornelius, this 30-minute adventure is a perfect illustration of imaginative teamwork, and how to use creative thinking to overcome a bad situation. A child of Peter’s age can do plenty! Along the way, there is laughter, song, and audience interaction! Crafts and Activities Between performances, families are invited to stay and play with TCT and The Children’s Museum of Cleveland. Children of all ages can enjoy making crafts on theme with the performance while The Children’s Museum of Cleveland engages children in exciting science-based activities. Activities will not be available during the 30-minute performances at 11AM, 1PM, and 4PM. HOW Admission bracelets for the day are $10 per individual. Stay for all three performances if you want! Theatre in the Circle, a new theatrical incubator in University Circle, is making the landmark Judson Manor its creative home and primary venue for specialized performances. Conceived by Bill and Mark Corcoran as an extension of Judson’s internationally recognized program of cultural enrichment for its residents and members, Theatre in the Circle will produce theatre for Judson, University Circle and Cleveland metro communities. The new ensemble is structured as a semi-professional community theatre and uses existing public spaces at Judson Manor for its rehearsals. Theatre in the Circle will initially take its shows “on the road” to Judson Park and South Franklin Circle. Artistic Director, Bill Corcoran, and Managing Director, Mark Corcoran are residents of Judson Manor, 1890 East 107th Street in University Circle. Their combined theatrical and business experience create a synergy that is the heart of Theatre in the Circle. Bill has worked at The Cleveland Playhouse, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Long Wharf Theatre in Connecticut, Virginia Stage Company and Winmack Productions theaters in Colorado, Arizona and Indiana. He has composed fourteen original musicals (Eddie, UFO, Mysterioso, Halfway To Heaven, Snow Queen, The Legend of Daniel Boone, Out of the Habit, It’s A Wonderful Life, Twain’s Tale of Huck and Tom, Through York’s Eyes, Sex After Sixty?, David and Bathsheba, Little Bear of the Miami and Mark Twain on the River). He has also arranged numerous revues, penned six novels and taught music theory and piano at colleges and universities in the Midwest. Mark has extensive experience in public relations and musical theatre production and has held management/board positions in a variety of for-profit and 501 (c) 3 organizations. WALK-ON ROLEDobama Theatre is seeking a white male (70's-80's) for a non-speaking walk-on role in our main stage production of THE MYSTERY OF LOVE& SEX by Bathsheba Doren.Rehearsals will take place August 9-31, 2016. Rehearsal for this role will be minimal. Although the role has no lines, it requires the actor to react to discovering a man dancing naked. The production runs five weeks (Thursday through Sunday performances) from September 1, 2016 until October 1, 2016.There is a $200 stipend for this role.
