The Cassidy Theatre Board of Directors is now accepting statements of interest from local directors, musical directors, stage managers, choreographers, and costumers who are interested in being a part of our 2017 season! If you are interested in submitting a statement of interest, please submit your resume, with the name of the production you are interested in working on, (if you are interested in multiple productions, please note in your email), production position/role (Example: Director), as well as a brief write up as to why you are interested in working at the Cassidy Theatre for the said production. Please submit above information by *09/20/2016* to: office(a)cassidytheatre.com. *DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL.* If you have a production team (Director, Music Director, and Choreographer) in mind for the piece that you are interested in, please include that information in your statement of interest along with the production team’s résumés. For all individual submissions the board will determine the production team based on statements of interest submitted by other individual artists. The CTI Board of Directors will meet the week of September 19, 2016 to review all applicants and may ask that you come in and present your concept for your production choices. Once this has been completed, the CTI Board of Directors will make selections shortly thereafter. What About Them Productions What About Them Productions is casting extras [All Ethnicities] [Age 18-40] for two fitness class scenes for our most recent film “*End of the Road*.” We are looking for actors or non-actors to participate in the class that will go through a real workout. To be considered you must be available for filming on Sunday October 2nd *First class to start filming promptly at 9am (Extras report at 8am for scene prep)* *Second class to start filming promptly at 10:30am (Extras report at 9am for scene prep) * You may submit for either class but only choose one. The Junior Company is an intensive program that focuses on performance in a musical and teamwork. It prepares young actors to compete as a team at a National Junior Theatre Festival. Members of the team study and prepare an abridged version of a musical and compete against other youth theatre groups from across the nation. The first part of the Junior Company introduces you to the professional life of a performer. While rehearsing alongside the adult company the students prepare to perform in MTC’s holiday musical Meet Me in St. Louis December 17 and 18, 2016. While rehearsing, the students receive pre-collegiate training from Notre Dame College and Mercury Theatre Company during the first part of their day of rehearsal. Classes include acting, voice, improv, movement and dance as well as technical aspects of theatre. The third part prepares the students to compete at the National Performing Arts Festival (February 23-26, 2017). Mercury Theatre Company will produce the musical chosen to the public in the beginning of February before taking the abridged version to the NPAF. Shows in consideration are Shrek, Rent, Big River, and Children of Eden. Breakdown * 30 students ages 12 to 18 will be accepted into the Junior Company. * All students will rehearse and perform onstage in Meet Me in St. Louis (December 17 and 18, 2016). Rehearsals and classes will begin the weekend of November 18. * The Junior Company will meet once a week starting in mid-November through December with one tech week before Meet Me In St. Louis and then three-four times a week starting in January 2017 leading up to the public performances of their musical and the festival. * The total cost for each participant is $500.00 to MTC plus the trip to the National Performing Arts Festival (which there will be fundraising opportunities and all ticket sales for public performances will go to the trip). Scholarships and payment plans are available. Requirements We are seeking bright, talented young artists with a hunger to grow and learn from every experience. You must possess a strong voice, solid dance technique, and the ability to connect with an audience to tell the story. Audition Information Open Call Auditions are Thursday September 29 and Friday September 30 at 7:00 pm. Please prepare two short (16-bar) musical selections of contrasting styles in your key; bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided. You may be asked to sing only one selection as time permits. Headshots and resumes will be accepted at the audition. There will also be a short dance call. LOCATION: Notre Dame College 1851 South Green Road South Euclid, OH 44121 Auditions will be held in the Regina Auditorium. NOTE: Main entrance is at 1851 South Green Road (the old Regina High School driveway). The current listed college address is: 4545 College Drive. Regina High School is now part of Notre Dame College. FALL THEATRE CLASSES FOR KIDS AND TEENS IN OBERLIN

The MAD* Factory (*music, arts, drama) fall classes begin the week of September 19th! Call 440-774-7062 to register and come join the fun!! YOUNG ACTORS "IF I RAN THE CIRCUS" AGES 5-7. MONDAYS 5:30-6:30. $170 Come play with us! Students will have fun playing games, singing songs, ad learning their parts for a play based on the Dr. Seuss classic "If I ran the Circus." This introduction to acting is a fun class where everyone is a star! Class showcase December 5th. COMEDY IMPROV SESSION 1 AGES 8-12. MONDAYS 6:30-8. $170 COMEDY IMPROV SESSION 2 AGES 13-18. THURSDAYS 6:30-8. $170 How do you create a scene when all you have is yourself, your scene partner, and the word 'pickles'? That's exactly what you'll find out in comedy improv class! Students work together to earn the fundamentals of improv through quick thinking and character exercises, then put their knowledge into practice by performing in various scenes and games throughout the semester. This class is always hilarious, come give it a try! Class showcase December 5th. INTERMEDIATE ACTORS "WILLY WONKA KIDS" AGES 8-12. TUESDAYS 6:30-8:30. $170 If you like to act, sing, dance, or just be in front of a crowd, then this is the class for you! We will work together to prepare "Willy Wonka Kids" for performance. Students will read scripts, learn stage blocking, and have fun making friends and getting into character. No experience necessary to come join the fun! **This play needs 20 students. Play title subject to change if enrollment is too low.** Class showcase December 6th. TEEN ACTORS HOLIDAY PLAY AGES 13-18. WEDNESDAYS 6:30-9:00. $170. Our teen acting class is always one of our favorites. The MAD* Factory is a great place for awesome theatre-loving teens from all different schools to get together and become friends while working towards a performance goal.
