We are preparing a wonderful end-of-year party for you. Please join us on Saturday, December 30th as we dance our cares away and celebrate new beginnings while dancing to one of the best bands in the area, Red Light Roxy. Please take note that this event is on the eve of the eve. :) Dress to impress! This event is a glitzy and glamorous affair! Everyone is welcome to attend. You can bring your own dance partner, attend solo, attend with a group, meet friends there. There is no need to purchase tickets in advance and tickets are only $12 per person. No discounts for this special event. The Waterloo Ballroom at the Slovenian Workmen's Home is located in the very artsy and lively Collinwood neighborhood. The address is 15335 Waterloo Rd, Cleveland, Ohio 44110. Two parking lots right next to the hall. 8-9 Jitterbug dance lesson for all levels 9-12 Red Light Roxy will inspire your soul and soles to float around the dance floor in a blissful euphoria. We have some of the biggest swing dances in the area with over 150 people attending each month. Attendees have a variety of dance experience (including none) and come from all walks of life and ages. You will not need to bring a dance partner. We rotate partners during the dance lesson. How often do you get to meet 50-100 new people in under an hour? We provide the highest quality swing dance instruction from some of the nicest, most patient people you will ever meet. Our staff includes regional, national and international swing dance competitors (and winners) in multiple swing dance forms. We welcome anyone to join us who has an interest in dance, music, socializing and fun. We don't care what your physical ability or size is, where you are in life, where you are on the spectrum of sexual or gender orientation, what color or creed, or non-creed, you are. Are you a man who wants to learn how to follow or a woman who wants to learn how to lead? That's cool! This idea is not new to the swing dance scene. We are the easiest club to join. CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM IS HOLDING AUDITIONS FOR NEOMFA PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL TUESDAY, DEC. 19 LIMINIS THEATER AT 7:00 PM For the seventh year running, con-con will produce the plays of grad students in the Northeast Ohio Master of Fine Arts (NEOMFA) program in playwriting. The Festival will take place over two weekends: Feb. 8 – 10 and Feb. 15 – 17 next year. Rehearsals will start the second week of January. Those who have participated in the past can testify that the Festival is an intensive, busy and thoroughly fun experience! This time there will be two full-length plays (by Rob Daniels and by Katie Wallace) and two 10-minute plays (Adam Rounick / Jonathan Wlodarski). A full-length and a 10-minute play will be presented the first weekend, and the other two plays will be presented the following weekend. In all, the four plays have 20 roles as follows: 15 men (9 men playing age ranges 20’s/30’s; and 6 men 30’s and upwards) 6 women (4 women 20’s/30’s; and 1 woman 30’s/40’s) Auditions will consist of readings from the scripts, but the auditions will be general Festival auditions, not for specific plays. All four directors will be present. It is very possible that you could be cast in a play that you did not read from during auditions. It is also possible that you may be cast in two plays, specifically, one full-length and one 10-minute. *ACCOMPANIST NEEDED* *JOB DESCRIPTION: ACCOMPANIST* Bethany Covenant Church in Lyndhurst, Ohio, is seeking a piano accompanist with a heart for leading worship 1-2 Sundays per month to start, beginning as early as late January 2018, with the possibility of increasing to additional Sundays per month in May of 2018. Our small, but friendly and welcoming church would especially benefit from worship led by a follower of Jesus with a commitment to personal spiritual growth and formation. Minorities are especially encouraged to apply. *DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* - Provides music on piano, or piano and organ at the Sunday morning worship service and other special services as arranged. - Accompanies the Music Team, which is currently a volunteer acoustic guitar, cello, and percussion driven vocal ensemble that leads contemporary, traditional, and gospel songs with the congregation. Rehearsals take place on Sunday mornings. CPT Accepting Proposals for 18/19 Season from Local Artists

Dear Northeast Ohio artists, CPT is planning the 2018/2019 Season, and we are reaching out to you for great ideas. CPT is focused on new work that is surprising, unexpected and somehow outside the realm of conventional theatre. CPT is looking for proposals from Northeast Ohio artists for complete projects. Proposals may be for world premieres, second or third US productions, radical re-envisioning of classic plays or other projects. The show could be your own show or a script you would like to work on. Based on the success of past co-productions and our New Play Development series, we are also interested in creating opportunities for artists and groups that would like to retain greater ownership of projects and who can share risk with CPT. BEFORE SENDING A PROPOSAL: * Take time to look at CPT's recent seasons-these are excellent examples of our programming choices. Click Here for the Season Archive<http://www.cptonline.org/performances/seasons/>. * Get a sense of CPT's aesthetic and artistic sensibility-if you haven't seen a lot of shows at CPT, talk to people who have. * CPT has a culture of doing a lot with a little and production budgets are modest. Keep in mind CPT's financial limitations. * If this is a new/original project, think through its current state of development-is it still in early development or at the right moment for full production? SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL Proposals of complete projects should be 1-3 pages long, not including script or work samples, and must include: * A one page summary of the project: including why this project fits CPT's mission and why it's important to you as an artist. * Your sense of what state the project is currently in and a general plan to bring it to completion. * A resume for all primary artists involved. * Additional materials that will help us get a sense of the project: copy of the proposed script, a sample of past work, video, etc. Please mention if you are interested in co-producing options. DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS IS MONDAY, DECEMBER 18TH, 2017. If you are submitting an idea for a play that is already written by an outside artist, please keep in mind that others may be proposing the same script-in other words suggesting a script does not mean you have dibs on doing it at CPT.
