It's a movie, with substance and an entertaining value, that I hope can inspire many people or provoke thoughts of people who can't be inspired. A movie with meaningful emotional experiences that mirrors our humanity. It will be professionally produced to be submitted to Sundance Film festival and some others. *1.* *Dual male lead role: *good posture, decent look, in good shape, classy, mature and confident body language. Age 30-40 *2. Male role: *can be naturally goofy and funny. Age 28-40 *3. Male role: *good posture, classy, not overweight nor big, not taller than 6'. Age 60-75 *4. Male role: *intelligent, decent look, in good shape. Age 28-38 *5. Male role: *strong, in good shape, be able to carry the male role #3 and run a short distance. *6.* *Female role*: manipulative seductive with an evil streak. Decent look and in good shape. Age 28-35 *7. Male roles as Patients *Age 25-55 *8. Male role: *authoritative. Age 30-55 *9. Female roles as Patients * Age 25-60 *10. No fee for submitting! Playwrights Local seeks original, unproduced plays for our 2018-2019 season and events, including: - The 4th Annual Cleveland Playwrights Festival - Play Lab development program - Roundtable staged reading workshop - Our new podcast play series - ...and more! Playwrights may submit up to three pieces: - One ten-minute play - One one-act (30-60 pages) or full-length play (60-120 pages) - One radio/podcast play (25-60 pages) All unproduced, original plays for adult audiences are accepted, including one-person plays. BENT Auditions @ Beck Center Announced

Beck Center in Lakewood, OH announces auditions for Martin Sherman's *BENT *directed by Oberlin Professor of Theatre Matthew Wright. Audition appointments will be taken beginning Tuesday, Dec. 26th at 2PM by calling the Beck Box Office at 216-521-2540 x10 *Appointments will be taken for Saturday, January 13th beginning at 3PM ~~~ and Sunday, January 14th beginning at 6PM.* Callbacks may occur later Sun Eve. (the 14th), or Monday evening , Jan. 15th. If you sign up for the Sunday the 14th, please be prepared to stay if asked. Mr. Wright will be employing a cast of 7 for this production {breakdown below}. It is anticipated that up to 2 AEA contracts will be available for this production (Special Appearance Tier One). All performers 18 and older receive a stipend for their participation. *CASTING BREAKDOWN: BENT* *Max*: 30’s, fit, gay but passes straight, complex relationship to his identity, determined to survive whatever the price, fashionable, sophisticated, comes from money. *Rudy*: 20’s, dancer, more flamboyant than Max, sensitive, loves Max probably far more than Max loves him. *Greta*: 30’s-40’s, drag performer, acerbic, cynical, lives outside the club as straight *Horst*: 20’s, activist for queer recognition/rights, intellectual, a nurse by day *Ensemble of three men: 20s-50’s, will play a number of important roles, including* · Wolf: ununiformed Nazi, denizen of the “leather” scene · Freddie: Max’s older uncle, a closeted “poof,” fashionable and wealthy · Nazi Captain: power-mad, abusive · Guard: officious, dislocated from the human degradation surrounding him · Various prisoners, Nazis, etc. *AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:* Please prepare a contemporary monologue, not longer than 90 seconds in duration. Callbacks will involve reading from the script, and it is expected that all actors will have a working familiarity with it. There will also be a movement call during callbacks. *ABOUT THE PRODUCTION:* It is essential that all actors involved in this production be precise, involved story-tellers with excellent command of their bodies. The whole ensemble of actors will be engaged in choreographed “scene-changes” and will bear witness to the action of the play throughout. Changes in character for the men in the ensemble will be accomplished minimalistically and rely on strong physical characterization. The director very much hopes to cast the play with an eye to diversity, including consideration of non-binary individuals, people of all races and trans men.

Sometimes hysterical, sometimes poignant--- with spices of naughtiness throughout. *Audition Dates and Times:* *Monday, January 8th from 6PM to 8PM* and *Tuesday, January 9th from 6PM to 8PM* It is anticipated that callbacks (if needed) would be held the weekend of January 13/14. *Auditions will be BY APPOINTMENT and will be taken beginning Monday, Dec. 11th by calling 216-521-2540 x10 <(216)%20521-2540>* EdgeNewYork.com says "*One of New York's best new plays! Phenomenal!*" The Village Voice opines "*Funny and touching to sweet, sexy and silly*!" Sought are four actors (2 Female and 2 Male) and two swings (1 Female and 1 Male) for this NE Ohio premiere. Ideal age range is 25 to 45, though depending upon the actor that could skew a bit higher. We are looking for engaging, affable personalities with dynamic story telling ability. Please prepare a brief 60 second monologue of your choosing. East Cleveland Theater is hosting auditions for Race, by David Mamet. *Synopsis:* Published in 2008, and opening on Broadway in 2009, Race is a no-holds-barred look into the legal system, long before a case is heard in the courtroom. Lawyers must decide whether to take a case, and then IF they take a case, what strategies need to be used to win a case.
