The MAD* Factory (*music, arts, drama) is hiring summer camp counselors! WHO: Enthusiastic and energetic individuals 18+ that want to share their love of theatre with local youth! WHEN: June 1st through July 30th WHERE: Oberlin, OH. Must either live/find housing in Oberlin or have reliable transportation. JOB DESCRIPTION: Counselors are responsible for participating in our theatre-based day camp for children ages 6-14, teaching songs and acting exercises and preparing the campers to perform plays in an end of camp showcase. Counselors also must audition for and participate as actors in our community musical, which this year is "Aida." Day camp is weekdays from 9am-4pm, show rehearsals are weekday evenings from 6:30pm-9:30pm and Sundays from 2pm-5pm. 2017 Auditions-Great Lakes Medieval Faire

The third round of auditions for the 2017 Great Lakes Medieval Faire will be held Saturday, March 25th and Sunday, March 26th from 11 am to 4 pm inside the Feast Hall at the Great Lakes Medieval Faire For our principal cast, we need four men preferably age 30+ to play our Knights Templar: -Richard Mallebeench, Master of the Templars in England -Gilbert de Lacy -Sir Roger St. Leger -Sir William de Harcourt We also need talented actors to portray our main villainous nobles the Earl Edmund of Lancaster and his wife Blanche of Artois, as well as their hired help; a chaotic neutral group of rogues and their leader. This year, our principal cast is based on people that actually existed (save for the rogues. They were just added for dramatic effect). Please research the character you are auditioning for, and tailor your audition piece appropriately. While the names of our leads are historically accurate, the age of the actor portraying them does not have to be. The entertainment world can be very exciting, but also very daunting at the same time. Have the following thoughts ever run through your mind? *How do I get an agent?* *Where do people find out about auditions for the big films?* *Do I need headshots? Or a film reel?* *Should I move to LA to try to find work?* *How can I actually make money doing this?* If you’ve had any of these thoughts, don’t worry–you’re not alone! In fact, MOST actors have had these questions at some point in their career. People aren’t born knowing how to navigate the ins and outs of the entertainment industry–for most people, their knowledge comes from years of experience working as an actor, going to auditions, taking good roles and bad roles, working hard to get noticed by agents and casting directors so they can slowly move up the acting food chain. That’s certainly one way to do it. But if you’re like most actors outside of Hollywood, you probably don’t have the time or the energy to go through all of those steps. You probably have a job, or school, or a family to take care of. You may not have the flexibility in your schedule to go to EVERY single audition just to get enough experience to figure out what you’re doing. And really, who needs the frustration of going to auditions and getting tons of rejections when you may never even be considering a full time career in acting. That’s why we created the ‘Make Money Acting’ Bootcamp. We will teach you, step-by-step, exactly what you need to know in order to go from no acting experience to booking national commercials. This information has been tested over many years, and is the exact same material and techniques used by talent agencies to get actors booked in commercials, industrial training videos, commercial print, TV, and film. The material works: - Even if you’ve never acted before - Even if you don’t have headshots, a reel, or any other marketing materials - Even if you’ve met with talent agencies in the past and haven’t been signed - Even if you’ve been the victim of one of the many acting scams out there - Even if you have no idea who to trust or where to start Hi, I’m Brian Bowers. I’m a former talent agent who has successfully negotiated tens of thousands of dollars in bookings for actors and models in commercials, TV, film, voiceovers, and print. More info about the series and auditions are below: The web series follows a young, black, queer PhD student who enters into an existential crisis when her idol turns out to be the opposite of who she thought they were. On top of defining her identity she is also struggling to complete a dissertation that her advisor is not in total support of all while trying to be a competent maid of honor for her sister's wedding.
