WEEKEND HAPPENINGS AT THE WEST THEATER IN BARBERTON Honoring D-Day and helping others are on the agenda this weekend at The West Theater in Barberton, Ohio. Friday, June 2 at 7:30 and Saturday, June 3 at 2:00 and 7:30 we will be showing the star-studded 1962 classic , THE LONGEST DAY. Admission is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for Children & Senior Citizens and Free with a Military ID . Then on Sunday, June 4 it’s our first “Canned Film Festival”. The movie will be Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis in AT WAR WITH THE ARMY. The cost of admission is $1.00 or Free with a non-perishable food item. All admission proceeds go to benefit the Barberton Salvation Army. And coming June 24th will be the first of our monthly “Saturday Night Chiller Theater”, a hosted double feature movie night with chills, thrills, contests, and fun. Shakespeare in the Square 2017 Auditions "Taming of the Shrew" Director: Jennifer Dove Dates: Monday June 5th and Wednesday June 7th Time: 7-9 PM Location: Medina County Administration Bldg. (Choral Room) 144 N. Broadway St Medina, OH 44256 Production dates: August 10th , 11th , 12th 2017 Rehearsals will begin June 21st Shakespeare in the Square will hold open (ages 16 and up) auditions for the outdoor production of "Taming of the Shrew" to be held in the historic Medina Square August 10, 11, 12 2017. While Shakespeare's original script, albeit heavily edited, will be used, this production will be a non-traditional updated version presented in a Rockabilly setting. So bring your Elvis attitude and your Marilyn moxie! Ladies Please Note: As usual Shakespeare has been awfully stingy with the female roles in this comedy. Along with the leads of Katharina and Bianca some of the traditionally male characters are being adapted to allow for more female roles. Audition Requirements: Cold reading from the script. Please bring a headshot and resume if you have them, but it's not required and your calendar with ALL conflicts between June 21st and August 12th. We have two 4x8 dark wood conference tables with power strips built in to the underside. These are solid wood tables and EXTREMELY heavy. Work schedules are sent out for the following week on Sunday/Monday. Great position for high school, college students, young adult, or retired worker. We are a seasonal facility. All applicants must be team players that work well with others. Our hours of operation are directly related to the events that are scheduled. (Part time seasonal work) Position requires some lifting. Manual labor, must be able to perform duties as assigned. Wedding experience helpful. A training period of 30 days to start. Will train the right person. The position is a part-time seasonal position that offers 10-20 hours per week. Starting rate of pay is $9.00 per hour (Advancement possibility to $10/12 per hour for the right candidate.) Wedding and Party events are on weekends, Friday, Saturday and Sunday All applicants must be drug and alcohol free and are subject to random drug/alcohol screening. Drug and or alcohol use is grounds for immediate dismissal. Duties * Hosting wedding and party events. Wedding facility and community event center. * Must be able to communicate and work well with others. A good knowledge of music is a must. * Flexible and able to take requests for songs.
