The Diary Of Anne Frank (By Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman) Directed by: Molly Marie Auditions will be held: January 5 (5-7pm) January 6 (2-4pm) Ages 13+ Held at: Orrville Community Theater 307 Hostetler Rd Orrville ✨✨ Rehearsals will most likely be Friday-Sunday 630-830pm ✨✨ Show dates: February 22-24 (Friday and Saturday 7pm shows, Sunday 2pm show) Characters Otto Frank: Anne’s polite and practical father, Mr. Frank is the head of the “attic family.” Edith Frank: Anne’s reserved and nervous mother. Margot Frank: Anne’s older sister. Anne Frank: The youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank, Anne is a lively, curious girl of thirteen at the beginning of the play. Putti Van Daan: An irritable former business partner of Mr. Frank. Petronella Van Daan: Mr. Van Daan’s vain and finicky wife. Peter Van Daan: The son of Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan, Peter is a shy, quiet teenaged boy. Jan Dussell: Difficult to get along with, joins the Franks and the Van Daans. Miep: A very well-liked, generous secretary in Mr. Frank’s office. Mr. Kraler: A businessman who works with Miep to help protect the people in hiding. ******************************** The play opens on July 6, 1942 in Amsterdam. Because they are Jews, the Frank and van Daan families move into hiding to avoid arrest by the Nazis. Mr. Kraler and Miep Gies, Christian business associates and trusted friends, help everyone get settled in the secret annex: Mr. and Mrs. Frank and their daughters, Margot and Anne, as well as Mr. and Mrs. van Daan and their son, Peter. The outsiders leave, assuring the two families that they will help them in hiding for as long as it takes. As the families begin to unpack, Anne tries to get acquainted with the shy Peter. The Producers the Mel Brooks musical Directed by Keli Schimelpfenig Musical Direction by Anthony Trifiletti A scheming producer and his mousy accountant aim to produce the biggest flop on Broadway in Mel Brooks' laugh-out-loud spectacle. Auditions Saturday, February 16th @ 12:00 p.m. Sunday, February 17th @ 2:00 p.m. Callbacks, as needed, Sunday, February 24th @ 2:00 p.m. St. Peter School, 3955 Oberlin Ave., Lorain 44053 Registration begins up to 30 minutes prior to audition start time. Preparation Those auditioning will be asked to sing a 32 bar cut in a vocal selection that reflects the style of the show. Bring your sheet music in the proper key. Auditions will not be permitted with any electronic accompaniment nor in acapella format. Dress for movement, and bring tap shoes if you have them. KENNELLY REVIEW: SPAMILTON @ Hanna Theatre

Say what you will about *Hamilton, Hamilton*,/ but ya gotta see it before *Spamilton, Spamilton*,/ or you’ll be:/ lost. /So study what you can/ (YouTube is your best friend)/ then you can laugh a little/or a lot and say:/ “I gave it my best shot.” As with *Hamilton*, the Broadway hit it’s based on, *Spamilton* ricochets an abundance of wit and words right at the audience. It seemed impossible to hear every nonstop word over the laughter from the previous riposte, especially (and paradoxically) since the sound was loud where I sat. But even though it was impossible to catch every allusion, the ones that were clear poked good-natured fun at musicals and the theater world in general. Jack climbs the beanstalk, and steals the giant's gold. The Baker and his wife are bestowed with a child...then what? In this imaginative and beguiling takeoff of familiar fairy tales, the real story begins once wishes have been granted, and the characters must learn to live with their "happily ever after."
