ACTORS NEEDED for staged reading THIS WEEK!

Greetings, actors of Cleveland! My name is Robert Lucchesi and I am directing a staged reading of "In Appalachia, Apertures", a new play by NEOMFA Candidate at Cleveland State Brandon North. It will be produced by Playwrights Local as part of their 2018 Play Lab and Spring Workshops, and we are still looking for a few actors to join our team. We will be rehearsing Wednesday and Thursday, March 14 and 15 at 7 p.m., and a final morning rehearsal and then 2:30 performance on Sunday, March 18, all in the North Collinwood/Waterloo Arts District (exact location TBD). A Brief synopsis of the play: Erica and Tyler Ricks are a couple working for an online magazine, currently compiling a photo essay about religiously themed billboards in Appalachia. While on assignment, Erica and Tyler become fascinated with the Root family, particularly the teenaged Jackson, whose obsessively taken photographs have supernatural effects. The Root family’s past trauma is exacerbated by the Ricks’ prodding, the middle-aged Joe’s drinking problem, and the elderly Lester’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease. The Ricks’ constant reopening of old wounds leads to several tragic events. Jackson and his sister Maggie must face these grim realities with new knowledge as shown to them by Erica and Tyler, who themselves are thrown into the Root family’s crisis. We are looking for three actors as we already have some folks involved in the project. Maggie and Jackson both need to be able to do a respectful and convincing Appalachian accent, as well as play characters in their late teens. If you've had experience doing dialects before, I trust you'll be able to pick this one up. Tyler need to speak in any specific dialect. Prelude2Cinema nominated for Coolest Internship The Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education (NOCHE) and Contempo DESIGN + COMMUNICATIONS are excited to announce the 2018 finalists for The Expys, NOCHE’s flagship awards program honoring the best interns, supervisors, and internship programs in Northeast Ohio. Nominations were accepted from August through December 31, 2017 in six categories: Best Intern, Best Supervisor/Mentor, Best Small Company Internship, Best Large Company Internship, Best College Advisor, and Coolest Internship. Prelude2Cinema has been nominated for Coolest Internship. Prelude2Cinema has also formed the “Prelude2Cinema Crusade.” The Crusade is a nonprofit fund for filmmakers. Thanks to a Partnership with AfricaHouse International, a nonprofit organization who is dedicated to providing quality education in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) primarily to the youth at risk, Prelude2Cinema is now accepting Tax Deductible Donations for our Crusade. Prelude2Cinema will be producing movies by its staff and is welcome to producing movies by filmmakers in Northeast Ohio and from anywhere in the world. Auditions for the Henry Denker's *The Second Time Around* at Workshop Players Theater in Amherst, OH. *Sunday, March 11; 2 pm. - 4 p.m.* *Monday, March 12; 7 p.m.** - 9 p.m.* Needed are 4 males and 4 females of varying ages. *Production dates: May 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20* Director Dave Stacko propels us back to the early 80s with his choice of *The Second Time Around*. Not only is it the second time around for this script, it is also the second time around for senior citizens Samuel Jonas and Laura Curtis, a widower and a widow who strike up a love affair. The potential loss of social security beneﬁts make living in sin more attractive than tying the knot; that is until their grown children become involved. The erstwhile couples’ offspring are not free of neuroses themselves, shown clearly as they raise their objections to what they perceive to be their parents’ precarious situation. Laughs will abound as this comedy unfolds.
