Their neighbor, Fred Gailey, tries to woo Doris by charming Susan and taking her to see Santa Claus at Macy's, where Doris works. Doris is not impressed, but when it turns out that Macy's Santa may, in fact, be the real Kris Kringle, a wave of love spreads across New York City that melts even the most cynical hearts. Filled with humor, spectacle and such beloved songs as "Pinecones and Hollyberries," "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" and "My State, My Kansas," this joyous, heartwarming musical is pure family entertainment, wholesome without being cloying. PAID ACTING JOBS. Linda Ryan here - I produce murder mysteries for various clients. All of the MMs I do were written by Eileen Moushey - and they are fabulous. All hilarious, with clever plots and dialogue. This genre has revived recently and I am seeking more actors. This is ideal for busy people because we only do a handful of rehearsals - usually five or six. The rehearsals are mostly held in West Akron, and sometimes at the location where the show will be. These mysteries are a combination of fully-scripted scenes, and mingling with the guests - so improv experience is a plus. I pay $100 per person, per show and free dinner is included. I have a wonderful group of folks that I've used many times, but with the influx of work, and with everyone being as busy as they are, I find I need more actors - both male and female. If you are interested, please email me your experience, any theater references you have, contact information, and a recent picture of yourself - a selfie will do. CMT’s revisited ‘Jane Eyre’ a dark, delicate and disarming musical Bob Abelman Cleveland Jewish News, The News Herald, The Morning Journal Member, American Theatre Critics Association Any stage version of a weighty, timeworn Victorian tome is likely to come up short in terms of content, context and authorial voice. Such complex storytelling is not easy to capture in the short form typical of live theater. Such is the certainly the case with modern plays based on Frances Hodgson Burnett’s 1909 novel “The Secret Garden,” Victor Hugo’s 1862 “Les Misérables” and Charlotte Brontë’s 1847 “Jane Eyre.” To compensate, each of these works have been imbued with musical numbers to augment the storytelling and, in their Broadway productions, the stages has been saturated with extraordinary and ominous theatricality to help bring the works to life. A new streamlined rendition of composer-lyricist Paul Gordon and librettist John Caird’s 2000 Tony-nominated “Jane Eyre” – receiving its world premiere by Cleveland Musical Theatre, a recently-formed professional production company – is even further abridged.
