Kit has a sarcastic personality about her when she is being toyed with. At times, careless. After dealing with her stalker for so long, she wants to get back at them and becomes recklessly obsessed. Kelsey: Kit’s roommate girl, 20-30’s flower child vibes, is always mellow and approachable. She is always there to help out. She can be sarcastic as well when she wants to be. Gerry: Kit’s stalker. 30’s+(open). He has a creepy demeanor about him. Gerry is quiet, yet outspoken when he wants to be. By the end of the film, he wants to live a normal life. Supporting Roles: College Activist: male or female, early 20’s. Peppy, upbeat, and kind of an airhead. They are promoting their environmental college group at the park. Ms. Karen: Female, 40’s+. Suburban mom vibes. They are uptight and stubborn. Protagonist Motivation: Kit has been dealing with her stalker, Gerry for a while now. She has become annoyed with him and his actions because it isn’t scary anymore. To make Gerry stop bugging Kit, Kit decides to reverse the roles and stalk him back. Along with some help of Kelsey, she has a few unsuccessful attempts at getting to him. Near West Theatre seeks an Assistant Stage Manager for its upcoming production of Carnival. This is a paid position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Assist with managing rehearsal process and maintain proper documentation of blocking and technical elements. • Assist with managing tech rehearsal process and maintain proper documentation for run of show. • Supervise and direct crew for run of show. • Assist with managing crew and cast call times, sound checks, performances and sightlines. • Attend tech notes following each night of tech. • Assist with managing emergency situations if they arise during rehearsals and performances (will be trained on company procedures) • Help maintain rehearsal and performance spaces. Required Skills: • Astute attention to detail • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally, collaborating with others • Must be able to solve problems as and when they may arise • Strong organizational and adaptability skills • Positive attitude and the ability to remain effective under pressure while managing staff and motivating teams for best results. Rehearsals started September 23rd. The rehearsal and performance schedule are as follows: • Rehearsals are Sunday-Wednesday. (with the exception of two possible Thursday rehearsals to make up for holidays) • Sunday Rehearsals: 2p-10:30p, Monday-Wednesday 7:00p-10:30p • Dry Tech: Saturday, November 10th from 11a-4p • Tech Week: Sunday, November 11th from 11a-10p, Monday, November 12th-Thursday, November 15th 5p-10:30p • Performances: November 16, 17, 23, 24, 25, 29, 30, December 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9 • Curtain Times for Thursday-Saturday performances are 7:30p, Sundays are 3p. Fall auditions are here and are you prepared? Dr. Christopher Hutton, Baritone, is taking new voice students and excited to get you physically and mentally prepared for auditions and performances. Dr. Hutton has a Masters Degree and Doctorate of Music Arts degrees in Vocal Pedagogy (Science of Singing) from Arizona State University, and is fluent in teaching both belting/music theatre technique and classical technique. Christopher attended Youngstown State University where he received his Bachelors in Voice Performance. He has also performed opera at regional opera houses for over thirteen years. Common Room Theatre presents: Pop-Cleveland! Common Room Theatre, an entertainment company dedicated to creating original comedic productions, is set to debut their banner show Pop-Cleveland! the comedic game show that tests how Cleveland you are! The show is a mix of sketch comedy and interactive mobile party games. The company’s inaugural show will take place on Thursday, September 27th at Forest City Brewery, 2135 Columbus Rd, Cleveland, OH 44113. Doors will open at 7:30 PM.
