What? Get Hep Swing presents - A swing dance party with Red Light Roxy When? Saturday, January 26th, 2019 Where? The Lithuanian Club, 877 E. 185th Street. There is a parking lot behind the building and you may also park in the Key Bank or Post Office lot. Use the entrance behind the building on the far left. Dance lessons? Yes. Please join us for an all levels LINDY lesson from 8-9 with the Get Hep Swing instructors. You do not need to bring a dance partner for the lessons or the dance. We rotate partners during the lesson. If you prefer not to rotate dance partners, we are okay with that too. Everyone is really friendly and you will get asked to dance during the social dancing from 9-12. Please do NOT teach others during the lesson or on the social dance floor. Do not give feedback on the social dance floor. Please flag down an instructor and ask them for help. Band? Red Light Roxy plays all of your favorite swing dance tunes from 9-12. Who may attend? EVERYONE is welcome! Do I need a partner? No, we rotate dance partners during the lesson. If you prefer not to rotate during the lesson, please help direct the other students past you each time we rotate. What do I wear? Wear shoes that allow you to pivot and turn easily. Some people find this floor a little slow so, wearing your leather soles or slippery soled shoes might be perfect. Most attendees will dress up for this special dance. Be impressive. Be confident. Be yourself. Wear what works for you and makes you feel good about yourself. What is the cost? $12 per person. $5 for first-time attendees. No pre-event ticket sales. Pay cash at the door. We welcome anyone to join us who has an interest in dance, music, socializing and fun. We don't care what your physical ability or size is, where you are in life, where you are on the spectrum of sexual or gender orientation, what color or creed, or non-creed, you are. Are you a man who wants to learn how to follow or a woman who wants to learn how to lead? That's cool! This idea is not new to the swing dance scene. We are the easiest club to join. If you have an interest, you are in. :) We love spreading the gospel of swing dancing and we are excited to share the language and culture of this truly American, urban folk dance form with you. It is important for us to let you know that this dance style started in the African-American ballrooms of Harlem, New York in the late 1920s/early 1930s. You will find this dance, and the ones that came from it, incredibly expressive, empowering, beautiful, and joyful. We can't wait for you to experience this conversation of dance with us. We make learning to partner dance easy and enjoyable. Please join us the second Friday of every month at the Lakewood Masonic Temple and the last Saturday of every month at The Lithuanian Club. Vincent Lighting Systems Job Posting E-Commerce Specialist/Order Fulfillment Associate (Cleveland/Solon, OH) SUMMARY: This full-time position located at our Solon, Ohio location. Responsible for day-to-day operations and planning of Vincent Lighting's online store, with a particular focus on improving the online customer experience and growing e-commerce revenue. The specialist works closely between the Marketing and Product departments, to identify opportunities for enhanced customer experiences on the store, as well as new product listings. This position requires interpretation of analytics provided by 3rd party providers, to assess the effectiveness of current keyword and content strategies and adjust to improve performance where possible. Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines is a requirement for this position. This position offers diversity in the day-to-day activities, as daily responsibilities also include fulfilling and packaging product orders, accurately shipping outgoing orders, and receiving incoming products and pallets. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Create and edit products to our online store. This includes writing unique descriptions and specifications, finding suitable photos (or taking effective product photos), as well as create keywords and meta-tags for each product, to improve SEO rankings. * Research other sites, to gain insight into how to improve our shoppers' experience in our store. * Analyze and interpret website statistics to determine which keywords are performing well, and where others need to be replaced. Monitor digital reports on search engine rankings, link popularity, conversions, etc. using Google Analytics, Prestashop and Leadsquared. * Prepare quarterly reports with high performing products and areas for improvement. * Identify 3-4 key products each month, and schedule social media posts. * Attend weekly Marketing meetings, and quarterly web store meetings. * Accurately pull orders, package and ship daily. * Receive product shipments into accounting program and distribute to the proper person/department. * Other tasks as assigned by manager. REQUIREMENTS: * Must have a working knowledge of theatrical lighting and scenic products. * Must be PC proficient, and possess a basic understanding of HTML and quantitative data collection. * Familiarity with core concepts and tactics related to e-commerce. * Ability to understand the requirements of features necessary to support the technologies and processes needed, in order to operate a successful e-commerce program. * Must be a self-starter, able to identify and prioritize important goals and work independently, showing initiative to ask questions and reach out to fellow team members for guidance, when needed. * Able to work in a team-oriented environment, to strategize upcoming goals and promotions for the store, as well as identify areas to improve. * Must be able to lift 50 pounds in a safe manner. * Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. *STAGECRAFTERS AUDITIONS* *THE CABARET TROUPE* Director/Choreographer: Tali Friedman Music Director: Malik Khalfani The Cabaret Troupe is a Musical Theater Master Class for the most disciplined and talented teens in Cleveland. This elite ensemble is designed to teach and inspire students to further reach their potential and career goals while showcasing their talent in a Musical Theater Revue. The Cabaret Troupe is planning a trip to New York City to take master classes with Broadway performers over Spring Break this year. In order to be eligible for the trip, you must be cast in the troupe during either the fall or spring of the 2018/2019 school year. Mandatory fees apply for the trip. Auditions open to students in 8th grade through 12th grade. Audition Date: Sunday, January 27 Audition Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm. Please plan on staying the entire time Audition Location: Pepper Pike Learning Center (32000 Chagrin Blvd. Pepper Pike, OH 44124). Rehearsal dates: Sundays from 5:30pm-8:30pm Tech week: Sunday, May 5-Thursday, May 9 Show dates: Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11 @ 7pm Come prepared with 32 bars of a musical theatre song. Please bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided as well as a CD player and aux cable for those wishing to use instrumental accompaniment trax (CD or mp3). No a capella auditions. Also please bring clothing/shoes you can dance in. Please bring a headshot and resume, or be prepared to list your previous experience on your audition form. Please also be aware of any potential conflicts. Once rehearsals have begun, it will be very difficult to work around conflicts that are not listed on your original audition form. If you accept a role in the show, each cast member is required to pay a registration fee of $198 to help subsidize the cost of mounting this production. EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT!!! Baldwin Wallace University Community Arts School is auditioning for their youth production of Disney’s Newsies. The show dates for Newsies are March 29-31 2019 with rehearsals taking place Mon, Tues, Thurs and Sun. Auditions will take place beginning at 930am on Feb 10 at 611 West Bagley Road, Berea, OH. Auditioners will need to prepare 16 measures of music in the style of the show and be prepared to do a reading from the script. Dance auditions will begin at 1230 and are mandatory for all auditoners. Callbacks will begin at 2 pm. Auditoners for the character of Les must be able to play and age range of 6-10 all other roles will be cast age 10-19.
