We will rehearse 4-5 weeknights/week and one weekend afternoon, beginning the week of February 19th. The rehearsal schedule is tentative and subject to change based on actor conflicts. Tech begins March 24; no conflicts will be accepted during tech week. Compensation: All actors will be paid a modest stipend. Audition requirements: -Prepare/memorize a 1-minute contemporary monologue -Bring current headshot and resume -Check your calendar for any rehearsal/performance conflicts. **If you have conflicts with callbacks, please let us know at the time of your audition** Character Breakdowns: Charlotte: (F, 18-25) fiercely intelligent, articulate, and funny; Jewish, Caucasian. Role requires partial undress, but there is no simulated sexual content. Jonny: (M, 18-25) close childhood friend of Charlotte, Christian, African American. Role requires partial undress, but there is no simulated sexual content. Howard: (M, 45-60) successful crime novelist, Jewish, Caucasian, married to Lucinda and father of Charlotte. Lucinda: (F, 45-60) dissatisfied with life, on a journey back to herself - along the way she self-medicates, married to Howard, mother of Charlotte Howard’s father: (M, 65+) **This is a walk-on, non-speaking role. Join Us On Month, Day For Our Next General Meeting The next meeting of the Songwriter Summit (nee: Summit County Songwriter Circle) will be held on February 4th at 2 Girls Cafe & Bakery, 3707 Darrow Road in Stow, OH. Our general meeting begins at 7 PM and is usually over by 9 o’clock. Meetings feature presentations of new songs or works in progress offered by members and non-members alike. You do not need to be a member to present a song and you do not need to be a writer to attend the meeting. Members discuss the songs, offer gentle critique and comment as requested by the performer. Songwriter Summit exists to connect songwriters throughout the area and has members that often travel from Pennsylvania and West Virginia to attend. Our musical tastes cover a wide variety of genres and styles and all are welcome. We have a choir and orchestra ready to go, but have lost some singers due to illness, etc. Your only responsibility is a Monday night 25 February rehearsal with orchestra and the performance on Sunday morning 3 March. Trutek Dance Co. - An all female professional dance Co. located on Cleveland's West Side is expanding it's company. We are a fusion company performing styles in Jazz, Contemporary, Acro, Tap, Jazz Funk, Hip Hop & more. We are now hiring one more part time dancer for a paid contract position with the potential to turn full time by May. Dancers should be versed in at least 3 of the above dance styles, with a high level of technical training. It is not required that dancers have a college degree in dance, but should have a minimum of associates degree in any field. Part time schedule does have flexibility. Dancers are paid a weekly salary, gas reimbursement cards, paid time off for holidays and breaks, sick days and bonus incentives. Part time dancers work 18 to 24 hours a week with a salary range of $21,000.00 to $27,000.00 per year depending upon experience.Full time dancers work 30 to 40 hours a week with a salary range of $40,000.00 to $58,000.00 per year. Avenue Arts Marketplace & Theatre announces auditions for PROOF Located at 324 Cleveland Ave. NW Canton, Ohio 44702 SYNOPSIS: On the eve of her twenty-fifth birthday, Catherine, a troubled young woman, has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician. Now, following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions; the arrival of her estranged sister, Claire; and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her father's who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that her father left behind. Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father's madness—or genius—will she inherit? Proof is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York. Claire (30s) - Catherine's older sister, a practical and business-minded woman who has been comfortably successful in her work and relationships. She left Robert and Catherine behind, distancing herself from the run-down family home of her youth. She left the family to make a new life for herself in New York City. Robert (50s-60s) - A recently deceased mathematician praised for his groundbreaking work in his youth, but whose later years were plagued by delusional mental illness; he is seen in Catherine's imagination and in flashbacks. Harold (Hal) Dobbs (20s-30s) - One of Robert's last Ph.D. students during the one year his idol and mentor's illness went into remission, at least enabling Robert to teach, if not continue his own creative mathematical work. As the cornerstone and launching pad for Actor Factory Ohio, the HOW TO ACT INSTRUCTIONAL SERIES now has a permanent home in Beachwood Ohio. This series, which guides actors from beginning to intermediate and advanced levels, has been instructing several Ohio actors for the last 4 years. Actor Factory Ohio will commemorate this fifth year of HOW TO ACT by expanding its instruction content. This year HOW TO ACT will predominantly feature guest instructors who specialize in certain elements of acting.
