Seven talented young performers recorded a song to benefit theaters as part of Equality Productions' mission to encourage donations to theaters during the pandemic. To view the concert on YouTube, send a donation to equalityproductionscincy(a)gmail.com through Venmo. The suggested donation is $10, but donate what you can. In the field "What's it for?", list the theater(s) for your donation. Once your donation is received, you will be emailed a YouTube link to watch the concert with those in your household. And the second concert will soon be released! Auditions for "Wicked Fun" - Concert of songs from "Wicked"

Equality Productions announces auditions for musical theater performers who want to participate in a recorded virtual concert of "Wicked Fun" - Songs from the musical "Wicked". The recorded performances will be sung in a cabaret-style. As the concert is a benefit, the roles are non-paid. By August 1st, email the role for your audition, your theater resume, day and time of your weekday evening and weekend afternoon conflicts from 8/5-8/31, and a video recording of one song to equalityproductionscincy(a)gmail.com. All auditionees will be considered for the role they chose as well as the other roles, including the ensemble. The performers will have rehearsals with Kristi Hiner, the musical director, and Richard Zenk, director on Zoom. Therefore, all auditionees must have a high-speed internet connection, a webcam with a microphone, PC speakers, and a room with a neutral-colored wall. Not all performers will be required at all rehearsals. ELPHABA: Age 16-35 with a vocal range: Mezzo-Soprano - F3 to F5 Elphaba is the main protagonist, who becomes known as the Wicked Witch of the West. She is intelligent, honest, likable but misunderstood. Her internal ‘goodness’ is juxtaposed to the oppression of the world around her – a conflict she battles internally and externally. She is as cunning as she is bubbly, a passionate, popular and loveable individual who uses her intelligence and social standing to manipulate her colleagues and friends. A metaphorical example of the corruption of power through false representation, the wizard trades his morality for popularity. His grand façade is a representation of his false power. MADAME MORRIBLE: Age 40+ Vocal Range: Alto – G3 to B4 Madame Morrible is a dark, conniving, and cunning character. Highly manipulative, seductive and inherently evil, she has no internal conflict as to the nature of her character. FIYERO: Age 16-35 Vocal Range: Tenor – F3 to G5 Fiyero is a seemingly one-dimensional character but has significantly more substance than his striking looks suggest. Social, affable, and lovable, Fiyero is fun, smooth, and at times naive. He is intelligent and torn by the social demands of vanity, peer pressure, and propaganda. DR DILLAMOND: Age 30+ Baritone. Dr. Dillamond is the moral compass. A teacher of life sciences and a philosopher, he is warm, noble, and fatherly. *💃ABREPASO flamenco💃 * ****Audition Announcement**** What: ABREPASO flamenco is starting a pre-professional training program beginning Fall of 2020 through Spring of 2021 in flamenco dance and is holding auditions for 5-7 dancers. Who: No prior flamenco experience necessary; dance experience strongly recommended. Must be 16 years or older. First round of the audition is online. Artistic Director Alice Blumenfeld will call participants for a brief phone interview. Acceptance to in-person audition will be via email. Video sample should be 5-10mins in length. Dancers accepted to audition in person: Date: Friday Sept. 4th Time: TBA (evening) Location: Wilhelm Dance Please come in dance attire. If you have flamenco, character, or folklórico shoes, please bring those. Otherwise, jazz sneakers/shoes or converse-like sneakers will work. What we’re looking for: *Professionalism* – professional attitude, willingness to learn and take corrections. Great work ethic and discipline. Applies oneself fully to the steps and accepts challenges. Shows up on time, can commit to the training program. *Enthusiasm* – interest in learning flamenco dance. Dedication and commitment to sustained study. *Coordination* – although no specific dance training required, general sense of coordination, spatial awareness, physical fitness, and rhythm necessary. Audition will include warm-up, flamenco technique exercises, creative movement, a combination, and rhythmic exercises. Benefit to participants: Participants will take flamenco dance & contemporary dance classes with artistic director Alice Blumenfeld from September 2020 - May 2021, receiving dance training, professional skills, learning choreography, along with learning flamenco history. Part of the tuition will cover costs for one custom-made flamenco costume. Students will receive a highly discounted rate for open classes. During the evening, the acclaimed Shaker Heights performer will interact with the online audience. The Zoom performance will be held at 7:30pm and is a part of *Stay-in-Place Productions*, the arts council’s response to COVID -19. The performance is free and open to the public.
