The roles needed include: 2 males (15-16 yrs)--1 African American or Biracial and 1 Caucasian to play high school students. 1 female (Mid-late 20's)--Any ethnicity to play a somewhat cheesy fictitious game show co-host. Auditions: Great Lakes Theater Seeking Actor/Teachers for 2021-22 School Year

Great Lakes Theater (GLT) will be accepting video auditions for non-Equity actor-teachers for its School Residency Program for the 2021-2022 school year. These are full-time, seasonal, paid positions, beginning in December 2021 through May 2022. Auditions will not be held in-person. Video submission deadline is Tuesday, November 16, 2021. GLT seeks actors of diverse cultures, perspectives, skills and experiences to create an inclusive ensemble to work in the classroom and online, helping students from K – 12 grade interpret and better understand classic texts through performance, activities, and discussion. Video recorded auditions should include one Shakespeare piece and one contrasting contemporary audition piece. Both should total no more than three minutes combined. The accounts of the falsely-accused explore these people's lives after being sentenced to death, and the legal proceedings that gained their exoneration. *FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*November 1, 2021 *MTC to Hold Auditions for Local Premiere of Heathers the Musical* *Youngstown, Ohio*- The Millennial Theatre Company (MTC) is holding auditions for the local premiere of *Heathers the Musical*, in collaboration with The Hopewell Theatre. Auditions will be held at The Hopewell Theatre in Youngstown (702 Mahoning Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio 44502) on November 11 from 6-9pm, November 12 from 6-9pm, and November 13 from 12-3pm. Rehearsals are slated to begin the week of November 15th. All performers will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before the start of rehearsals. Proof of vaccination will be required before the first rehearsal. Masks are required at all times at the auditions, except when performing. The production will be performed January 7-10 and 14-16 at The Hopewell Theatre in Youngstown Ohio. Auditioners (ages 16+) should prepare a 30-60 second cut of a song in the style of the show. An accompanist and bluetooth speaker will be provided. There will also be a cold read from the script. All roles are open. Heathers the Musical, based on the classic 1989 film, brings audiences to Westerberg High, a school ruled by a shoulder-padded, scrunchie-wearing junta: Heather, Heather and Heather, the hottest and cruelest girls in all of Ohio. Her poetic monologue is an astronaut’s shout in space, a place where sound waves can’t travel. She is a clown afraid of clowns, an actress trying to free herself from her persona. ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT Oana Leuca is a Romanian-born poet and playwright. She immigrated to the USA in 2018 and is currently pursuing her MFA in playwriting through the NEOMFA. At the 2020 NEOMFA Playwrights Festival, convergence-continuum produced one of her plays, Autopoiesis. In April 2020, she won the Leonard Trawick Scholarship in creative writing.
