Sandstone Summer Theatre of Amherst, Ohio is announcing auditions for our summer production of Godspell! Auditions for Godspell will be held April 30th and May 1st, with callbacks on May 2nd, at Marion L. Steele High School in Amherst, Ohio. Cleveland Shakespeare Festival Auditions

AUDITIONS: As our community starts to move past the pandemic that has consumed us for the past year, CSF hopes to bring our show back on the road this summer! We will not be performing our customary multi-show summer season, instead focusing on one production. If things continue to improve, look for us to bring "Romeo and Juliet", directed by Dusten Welch, to a park near you! Tentative performance dates will be July 16 – August 14. We hope to have venues confirmed soon. If the situation changes due to COVID, the performance will transition to a recorded radio play format. Accordingly, it’s time to wrangle up some actors! While it is our plan to perform live to outdoor audiences, our audition process will remain virtual this year. All roles are open and will be paid a stipend. CSF practices gender and color-blind casting. We will only consider actors who have received or intend to receive the COVID vaccine. Rehearsals and performances will adhere to CDC guidelines. To audition: film a video of yourself performing a Shakespearean monologue of no more than 3 minutes (comic or dramatic). Upload the video to YouTube or other video sharing service by 12 noon on Monday, April 12. Callbacks are by invitation and will occur via Zoom on Sunday, April 25. Hello there: I am looking to shoot a Music Video for a song called “Forget About Us” this track will be in need of a FEMALE and a MALE. Both should be between 21-30 years of age. Good and Decent Build … prefer the “All American” and “American Sweetheart” vibe. The story will be all memory based scenes as the two singers will not be acting and only singing. It will require 5 outfit changes and will have kissing involved as well as Hugging, Holding Hands, & Snuggling. These are all typical relationship items. This is a paid job. *HATHAWAY BROWN THEATRE INSTITUTE - 2021 SUMMER TRAINING PROGRAM* *JUNE - JULY - AUGUST* *HBTI 2021 training is "in person" ( masks, social distance & frequent handwashing) * Hathaway Brown Theatre Institute (HBTI), now in its 9th year, is conservatory style performing arts training for young people from 1st grade through college. HBTI is part of the Performing Arts Department at Hathaway Brown School in Shaker Heights, Ohio. HBTI provides students with an immersive curriculum in drama, dance and voice. It is a place for learning, sharing, experimenting, risking, and seeking their artistic voices. In this positive, process oriented atmosphere, students will have the opportunity to interact and learn alongside working professionals in arts. This “intensive” will grow their theater skills, increase their self-confidence, help them gain social skills and open them to a world of possibilities and new ideas. We collaborate to create and maintain an inclusive learning community and foster understanding and respect for all people and multiple perspectives . *Classes run Monday through Friday 9 AM - 3:30 PM in three sessions over the summer. * Session One 6/14 - 7/2 Intermediate and Performing Arts Training Session Two 7/6 - 7/23 PRIME, Intermediate and Performing Arts Training (no class 7/5) Session Three 7/26 - 8/6 PRIME, Intermediate and Performing Arts Training PRIME - For students entering grades 1-3 This program introduces the young students to acting, singing and dancing in an easy going, age appropriate manner. Throughout the session the students will work workshop-style on a special program and then they will present “The PRIME SHOW” for their families at the end of the session Intermediate - For students entering grades 4-6 This transitional program introduces techniques to the students. Students will take daily voice, ballet and stage combat classes. In addition they will develop their acting skills by working through an existing script. They are also eligible to audition for our summer production. (performed live and outdoors this year) Performing Arts Training - For students entering grades 7 through college. This program is age, skill and preference based. All performing arts Students will take the basic theatre technique classes of acting, voice and ballet. Also students will elect a program either; Acting, Musical Theatre or Dance and take additional classes in their focus. Those classes may include some of the following: Act the Song, Monologues, Tap, Ballroom, Stage Combat, Acting for the Camera, Movement for Actors, Contemporary Dance and Improvisation.
