This position is an 8 to 10-week intensive, full-time staff position, including evenings and weekends. Pay $650 - $800/week based on experience and position. The Program Director/Creator is responsible for leading the creation of an original play, with a cast of Cleveland teens with little or no theatre experience. The play is performed outdoors in neighborhoods throughout Cleveland in an 8-12 show run. Students ages 14-19, with little or no previous performance experience, are eligible for participation and earn money while learning and practicing valuable job skills such as timeliness, communication, commitment, and teamwork. Under the guidance of CPT artists, teens develop an original play and then tour it to public parks throughout the city of Cleveland. Since its beginning in 1995, STEP has received multiple awards and recognitions, including those from the City of Cleveland, The President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, and the National Endowment for the Arts. STEP is the longest-running arts-based, job-training program in Cleveland and has been utilized as an international model for engaging youth. STEP ensembles, comprised primarily of Black artists, see themselves as a positive and inspirational force and are able to witness their work's invaluable impact on the larger Cleveland community. Cleveland Public Theatre is a nationally recognized center for contemporary performance. Its mission is to raise consciousness and nurture compassion through groundbreaking theatre and life-changing education programs. CPT implements this mission through its annual theatrical season, featuring between eight to ten adventurous professional productions and a robust series of new play development programs that support writers and devisers at multiple points in the creative process. CPT's acclaimed education programs engage communities in devising new works that speak to contemporary issues and empower participants to work for positive change in our community. CPT's annual budget is around $1.8 million a year. CPT has 16 full-time staff members.

Synopsis: A group of friends rent a lake house hoping to have a great last weekend together. Not knowing that this could be the last time they ever see each other. Fake neck wounds, fake cut wounds, spirit gum and remover). You can let me know and we can go from there. Cleveland Shakespeare Festival Virtual Auditions Close April 12!

AUDITIONS: As our community starts to move past the pandemic that has consumed us for the past year, The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival hopes to bring our show back on the road this summer! We will not be performing our customary multi-show summer season, instead focusing on one production. If things continue to improve, look for us to bring "Romeo and Juliet", directed by Dusten Welch, to a park near you! Tentative performance dates will be July 16 – August 14. We hope to have venues confirmed soon. If the situation changes due to COVID, the performance will transition to a recorded radio play format. Accordingly, it’s time to wrangle up some actors! While it is our plan to perform live to outdoor audiences, our audition process will remain virtual this year. All roles are open and will be paid a stipend. CSF practices gender and color-blind casting. We will only consider actors who have received or intend to receive the COVID vaccine. Rehearsals and performances will adhere to CDC guidelines. To audition: film a video of yourself performing a Shakespearean monologue of no more than 3 minutes (comic or dramatic). Upload the video to YouTube or other video sharing service by 12 noon on Monday, April 12. Callbacks are by invitation and will occur via Zoom on Sunday, April 25. About Bob Patetta Bob Patetta is a singer-songwriter specializing in blues, rock and folk, and has been performing and recording on guitar, harmonica and vocals for over 50 years. Born and raised in New Jersey where he started out singing and playing in rock bands, he has also worked extensively along the Gulf Coast of Florida, playing harmonica and washboard with Rosie O’Grady’s Dixieland Band in Pensacola, guitar and blues harp in the greater Tampa area and in Ohio since 1990. He is currently performing with the Hot Potatoes band, as well as making many solo appearances. He is also known for making a joyful noise on Sunday mornings at many Unity and UCC churches in the area.

Beleaguered and loyal, could they have finally snapped? (ANY; A3-G4) *Shea Crescendo - Production Designer Works at theatre full-time - costumes, sets; a visionary with too few resources. Shea goes all the way with everything they do, whether they’re designing a show or playing a role in a murder mystery dinner party. It’s all or nothing for Shea. (ANY; E3-F5) *Vivika Orsonwelles - Leading Lady Pharmacist by day, star by night. When she finds out Varthur cast Lily, an ambitious upstart, as the lead in the murder mystery dinner party instead of her, she is fuming. Is she mad enough to take revenge? (FEMALE; G3-C#5) *Lily Wright - Ingenue Real Estate Broker by day and aspiring leading lady by night. She’s tired of playing second fiddle to Vivika. She wants her own spotlight and tonight she’s finally gotten it. (FEMALE; G3-D5) *George Murderer - Leading Man A trust-fund kid who fancies himself a musical theatre writer. In fact, he believes he has written the next HAMILTON. The Artistic Director has been shrining him along, taking his family’s money, making him think that they would be doing his musical next. (MALE; A2-A4) *Joan McArthur - Director’s Wife An estate lawyer who prefers to work with dead people, Joan has bankrolled this entire theatre venue and she’s fed up. She’s been trying to sell the building and everything they own goes to her in Varthur’s will. (FEMALE; F3-E5) *Jeremy Jordan A fantasy version of the Broadway star. (MALE; Eb3-C5) *Detective Case A latter day version of Justine, now a grand dame of policework who is alternately procrastinating and writing her memoirs.
