Meet New City Music Theatre! Hello friends, patrons, students and supporters! I hope that you are all well and staying safe during this difficult time. Throughout the pandemic, major changes have been underway at Cleveland Musical Theatre, and we are beyond excited to introduce to you our newly rebranded organization, New City Music Theatre (NCMT). I am excited to invite you to be a part of this new adventure. The world has changed dramatically since our company was founded. NCMT intends to respond positively to that change by moving to New York City and expanding our guiding principles. We will continue to honor our roots to provide professional opportunities to aspiring artists, all the while committing to be a leader in systematically erasing inherent biases in the theatrical community and providing a place where every voice is heard. New City Music Theatre's mission is to harness the power of the performing arts to challenge the status quo and to respond to the pulse of a contemporary generation through engaging, informed and inclusive experiences on and off the stage. We are hiring!! EMIR Productions Children’s Theatre in Akron, Ohio is looking for the following: 1. Zumba Instructor (can also be in the middle of getting certified) - Class Size: Hybrid class. No more than 5 people in-person and virtual as well. - Pay: Certified- $30 an hour. Not Certified or in the process- $20 an hour. 2. 2 singers who are great with harmonizing (can be a duo who has been singing for a while) and great with kids. - Will be singing for kids in the parent and me class. Plus a once a week rehearsal. - Pay: $35 an hour 3. A singer/keyboardist or singer/guitarist who can harmonize and great with kids - Singing and Playing Music in the parent and me class. Hailed as "a thoroughly endearing family friendly musical" by Broadway News and "Percy is a Rock Star!" by NY Daily News, this musical is compelling for fans and new audiences alike. As the son of Posiedon, Percy Jackson has newly discovered powers he can't control, monsters on his trail and is on a quest to find Zeus' stolen lightning bolt in order to prevent a war among the gods. HBTI's production of The Lightning Thief is co-directed by Bebe Weinberg Katz and Dan Hendrock. With music direction by John Krol and set/lighting design by T. Paul Lowry. Eastside, jazzy pop/rock band is looking for a female singer. The setlist is mostly 80s Pop inspired original tunes, with a few covers thrown in for continuity (Men I Trust, The Marias, Bird and the Bee). Practices are Tuesday and Thursday evenings in Mentor (6 to 8), with an occasional Saturday afternoon (12 to 4). Theatrical background a plus. Creators' Collective Registration is now OPEN! June 7 - 25, 2021 @ Edgewater Park A FREE Summer arts-intensive for CLE youth presented in partnership with Cleveland Metroparks' Youth Outdoors, produced by Starting Point Register: https://www.clevelandoperatheater.org/creators-collective Emerging middle and high school-aged artists in the literary, poetic, visual, digital, and musical performing arts are invited to hone their craft with Cleveland Opera Theater in a NEW outdoor Summer arts-intensive. With the help of professional teaching artists, participants will spend one week studying formal construction, lyrical and musical content, and the practical considerations of developing a new opera before creating their own, collaborative dramatic work that they will stage, rehearse, and perform. During the first week, aspiring writers, poets, and librettists have the opportunity to craft their own opera scene. In the second and third weeks, we invite students interested in all aspects of the performing arts to join us in staging, rehearsing, and showcasing the scenes in a free performance offered at Edgewater Park where family, friends, and the local community can recognize the achievements of the young creators and performers. Staff from Cleveland Metroparks Youth Outdoors program will lead the youth through recreational activities and outdoor adventures (all equipment will be provided). Youth Outdoors strives to meet the developmental needs of youth living in or near the City of Cleveland through involvement in outdoor adventure and nature exploration activities.By experiencing the wonder of nature and developing skills in outdoor recreation, young people gain a life-long appreciation and understanding of the importance of parks and nature. They also learn valuable life skills in making decisions, developing interests, communicating thoughts and feelings, making healthy lifestyle choices, and fulfilling responsibilities to others in their group and community.
