Spark Theatre Company is seeking 2 additional performers for its spring production, MISS COURAGEOUS: WOMEN OF SCIENCE as part of our touring show program. These productions usually have 1 public performance but primarily travel throughout NE Ohio to schools as assemblies for approximately 15 performances. Actors do not need to be available EVERY day throughout the touring timeline, but should have general availability during school days and/or flexibility in their schedules. Actors receive a stipend beginning at $500 and are reimbursed for travel to schools at the IRS rate of $0.58/mile. Miss Courageous: Women of Science By Joanna Halpert Kraus Elizabeth Blackwell, the first woman doctor in the United States with a medical degree, and Marie Curie, discoverer of radium, helped make possible today's scientific community where discovery knows no gender. This show invites students to share their obstacles and fight the prejudices against them before savoring their triumphs. Rehearsals Begin: February 20, 2023 around actor availability Performances: March 20th-April 14th, 2023 Available Roles: Two actors have already been cast in this production, we are seeking 2 additional actors for the roles listed below. All actors play multiple roles throughout this storytelling piece. Actor 3: (Female, any type) to play multiple roles including a narrator, and sisters of Elizabeth Blackwell and Marie Curie. Actor 4: (Female, any type) to play multiple roles including a young Elizabeth Blackwell and a narrator. HOW TO AUDITION: Send a recorded monologue OR choose one of the sides on our website to record. All actors in this piece play multiple characters, and actors auditioning will be considered for both open roles (unless you specify you’re only interested in one role or the other). Dear Friends & Patrons, Kent Trumbull Theatre will be presenting a reading of "That Guy," an award-winning play from Peter Anthony Fields. A playwright who receives inspiration by interacting with the imagined characters from the play that he is currently writing, is struggling through a period of writer's block as his characters have "stopped talking" to him. He soon begins to experience a strong resurgence of depression and anxiety, along with other physical and cognitive impairments. After receiving a devastating diagnosis, he is determined to get his life headed in a productive and positive direction. But despite his best efforts, everything that matters the most in his life seems to be on the verge of falling apart. The reading will be presented at Modern Methods Brewing Company in Dave Grohl Alley, downtown Warren OH. Venue opens at 7pm, reading will commence at 7:30pm. BorderLight Fringe Festival: August 3 - 5, 2023 Call for Artists<https://www.borderlightcle.org/apply/> closes Feb. 28 The BorderLight Festival returns in 2023 with our first all-Fringe festival. Don't forget to apply before the February 28th deadline! The festival will take place Thursday, Aug. 3 through Saturday, Aug. 5 all over downtown Cleveland's Playhouse Square neighborhood. The festival will feature half local artists, half artists from all over the U.S. BorderLight will provide a venue, box office, marketing support, and fun, free events like an Opening Night Party and a Fringe Awards Ceremony. 70% of box office revenue is returned to artists. And, participating artists can see other shows in the festival for free on standby. The BorderLight Fringe Festival draws thousands of attendees downtown and helps makes live performance more accessible.
