Beck Center for the Arts Youth Theater, one of the oldest continuously running Youth Theaters in the country, will be holding auditions on September 14 & 15, 2024for the first production of our 76th Season: THE MONSTER BASH OF DREADSTONE MANOR Written and Directed by Russel Stich Every hundred years, members of the various creature and monster communities gather to share updates, acknowledge achievements, and have a good time at an event known as Monster Bash. Join Mortimer and Lucretia Darkholme and their children, Macabre, Malice, Morbid, and Morose,as their home, Dreadstone Manor, plays host to Monster Bash 2024. As the unconventional guests arrive and the celebration gets under way, the local residents can’t help but notice all the unusual visitors and strange happenings at the mysterious house atop the hill. Before long, thanks to the prodding of some nosey know-it-alls, there’s a plan to storm the house and force the visitors out. This brand new comedy is written and directed by Beck Center’s own Russel Stich. Students do not need to be specifically enrolled in a Theater class at Beck Center to qualify. Students enrolled in the Theater, Dance, Music, Visual Arts, and/or Creative Arts Therapies Departments are equally eligible. Class sizes and offerings are limited at this time, so please register in advance if possible. Bottom line: if you are accepting a role in the show, you will need to enroll prior to the start of rehearsals. What to Prepare: • Students are asked to prepare a short one-minute comedic monologue or poem to present as their audition piece. Actor needed at Clague Playhouse

We are looking for a male actor aged 25-35 for the Clague Playhouse production of Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon. The play is a sequel to Pride and Prejudice and takes place two years later. Rehearsals will begin October 1, and the show runs Thursdays to Sundays from November 8 to December 8 (with no performance on Thanksgiving). The role is Mr. Darcy -- “FITZWILLIAM DARCY (scripted age 30) A loving, generous, and smart (if slightly stiff) husband to Elizabeth. He is quiet and vigilant and thus sees what others often miss. CALL NOTICE The Millennial Theatre Project is currently seeking a Musical Director for our upcoming production of Hairspray! The show is scheduled to run from January 10th to 26th, with rehearsals commencing on November 10th. Auditions will be held on October 14th from 6-10 pm, and callbacks are scheduled for October 21st from 6:30-9:30 pm. Please be aware that this is a non-union paid opportunity. We are looking for a skilled pianist to take on the role of Musical Director, responsible for instructing the cast in the music during rehearsals and performing with our live band during the shows. Rehearsals will take place on Sundays from 2-5 pm, and Monday to Thursday from 6:30-9:30 pm. Additionally, tech week will commence on January 5th from 12-9 pm, with Monday to Thursday of tech week running from 6-10 pm. However, when Agnes finds Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge. In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and 90s pop culture, acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all. *Roles are available for 10+ actors of all genders and ages.* · *Agnes Evans*: Agnes is described as striving to live an average life. Tilly has a love for D&D adventures, and anything classified as nerdy or geeky. In the game, her girlfriend is Lilith, who is later learned to be based on one of her friends named Lilly (or Elizabeth). · *Miles*: Agnes's boyfriend of five years. Miles is shown to fear commitment for not proposing to Agnes; however, at the end of the play the Narrator reveals that they eventually did get married. He appears in the game as a shapeshifting "gelatinous cube" that Agnes must kill. · *Orcus* <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orcus>*/Ronnie*: A demon <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demon> overlord of the underworld that holds onto lost souls or knows where to find them. He is obsessed with watching television. The party travels to him first to ask about the Lost Soul of Athens. He later joins the party on their quest. He is based on one of Tilly's high school friends named Ronnie. · *Vera*: Agnes's best friend in both versions of the play, the difference being in the original she is the school's counselor and in the YA version she works at a GAP outlet store. She is supportive of Agnes but does not approve of Miles. · *Chuck*: A member of Tilly's friend group and the Dungeon Master <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeon_Master> for the game. He helps Agnes throughout the module and introduces her to Tilly's other real-life friends. · *Lilith Morningstar/Lilly*: A Demon Queen that resembles a leather-clad dominatrix <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominatrix> and is Tilly's girlfriend in the game. In the game he is a mage <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mage_(fantasy)> that usually is on the receiving end of bosses showing how powerful they are, resulting in his death multiple times over. · *Farrah*: A fairy <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairy> and one of the bosses Agnes and her party must face before they can reach the final boss. · *Evil Gabbi* and *Evil Tina*: Cheerleader succubi <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Succubus> that torment Tilly, in particular about her sexuality, both in the game and when she was alive. They are based on Tilly's high school bullies. LCCC Theatre embraces diversity and inclusion and utilizes a non-traditional casting policy.
