Get into the spooky spirit this weekend with the University of Mount Union's Department of Performing Arts production of THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP. Gothic melodrama gets a high-camp celebration in this first-class comedy filled with murder, madness and mayhem.  With two actors playing 6 different characters and 30+ costume changes, hilarity abounds as this quick-change marathon moves at breakneck speed. Charles Ludlam’s horror spoof sends these actors on a tour de force ride full of werewolves, mummies, and a scary amount of laughter. THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP plays for 4 shows only, Oct. 9 - Oct. 12. Stow Players is pleased to present a fall writing workshop "Anyone Can Be a Playwright: Tell YOUR Story". This class is free and presented in partnership with ArtsNow in Summit County (https://artsnow.org/) This class is taught by local playwright and Stow resident, Brandi Eaton. She is an actor, director, and internationally published and award-winning playwright. Her writing credits include Matt’s First (Real) Thanksgiving - a full-length play that has been performed multiple times around NE Ohio. Brandi is the current director of the cast of Murder in the Mansion, an interactive Murder Mystery that takes place yearly at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens in Akron. This course will explore taking characters and situations based on personal experiences and the diversity of environment and culture to allow for artistic expression and communication of a variety of backgrounds and viewpoints. 6 Saturdays of Classes November 1 through December 6 with a final production/staged reading on December 13.
