Workshop Players Seek Directors for 2026- 2027 Season

July 5, 2025 Dear Potential Director, In a little bit less than a month (August 1, 2025) applications are due for directors interested in becoming part of Workshop Players’ 77th season 2026-2027. *SEND APPLICATIONS TO pprice302(a)gmail.com <pprice302(a)gmail.com>* Attached, please find a link to an article published by Playhouse Square’s Ideastream about this process and about our theater. Following is an outline of the process: *Applications (due August 1st) should include a theatrical resume if the applicant has never directed in our theater before. *Applications need to include 4-5 shows a director is interested in bringing to life on our stage. Include a brief synopsis of the show and why you believe it would work in our theater. (Comedies, dramas, musicals Christmas shows… all accepted, but we will only produce one musical each season). *In August the Board of Trustees will select the 5 directors. (Some may be asked to come in for interviews) *The Play Reading Committee will read the 20-25 submissions of scripts beginning in September with the goal of cobbling together a well balanced season. *In December the Board of Trustees will be presented with a potential slate of shows for 2026-2027 for approval and all directors will be notified. Perform at BorderLight Festival | July 17-19 on Playhouse Square Plaza BorderLight Festival is inviting local artists to bring their talents to Playhouse Square Plaza during designated busker blocks: quiet moments in the festival schedule when performers can independently engage with the public. Busker Block Time Slots Thursday, July 17 5:00-6:00 PM 6:30-7:45 PM Friday, July 18 5:00-5:30 PM 6:25-7:45 PM 8:15-8:45 PM Saturday, July 19 5:15-6:15 PM These are informal performance opportunities. An associate member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), she has also directed and choreographed productions for educational institutions and youth organizations throughout Northeast Ohio, with a passion for creating joyful, empowering spaces for artists of all levels.

Auditions at Clague Playhouse for *Lettice and Lovage* “One of the sharpest, wittiest, most passionate and elegant plays of the year.” - *London Sunday Express* By Peter Shaffer (*Amadeus*, *Equus*), directed by David Vegh Audition dates/time: Monday, July 14th and Tuesday, July 15th from 6:00 to 9:00pm. Show dates: March 27th thru April 19th, 2026 Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30PM and Sundays at 2:00PM. Sides from the script will be provided at the auditions. If possible, please arrive at 6pm to receive full group instructions. If this is an issue for you, it’s not a deal-breaker, come anyway! Please arrive by 7:45pm at the latest. If you know that you will be unable to arrive before 7:45pm, please email the director, David Vegh, at dmv36(a)case.edu. Note: The show is set in England (mostly London) and the director would like to hear your best attempt at a British dialect at the audition. Please bring resume and headshot, if available. If you don't have a headshot, Clague will shoot one at auditions. No appointment is necessary. You can fill out audition form onsite or from website. Please print and bring with you. The story: Lettice Douffet, an expert on Elizabethan cuisine and medieval weaponry, is an indefatigable but daffy enthusiast of history and the theatre. As a tour guide at Fustian House, one of the least stately of London’s stately homes, she theatrically embellishes its historical past, ultimately coming up on the radar of Lotte Schon, an inspector from the Preservation Trust. Neither impressed or entertained by Lettice’s freewheeling history lessons, Schon fires her. Not one to go without a fight, Lettice engages the stoic, conventional Lotte in a battle to the death of all that is sacred to the Empire and the crown. This hit play by the author of Equus and Amadeus featured a triumphant, award-winning performance by Dame Maggie Smith in London and on Broadway. Characters: LETTICE DOUFFET - female, any race/ethnicity, 50s-70s. Willfully eccentric, flamboyant and theatrical. A consummate actress who lives for breathing color into an otherwise grey world, even if it means embellishing the truth on occasion. LOTTIE SCHOEN – female, any race/ethnicity, 50s-60s. Buckled up and 100% by-the-book Personnel Manager. Aggressively no nonsense. Resting dour face. But also suppressing a vibrant passion for life that Lettice awakens in her. MISS FRAMER – female, any race/ethnicity, 20s-30s, anxious in a comedic way. Lottie’s downtrodden Administrative Assistant. May also double as a Tour Member. MR. BARDOLPH – male, any race/ethnicity, middle-aged. Extremely dry, stoic and business-like Barrister. Initially befuddled by Lettice’s eccentric ways, he soon falls under the spell of her storytelling. May also double as a Tour Member. A SURLY MAN - A stuffy, pretentious Elizabethan scholar. Will also play a Tour Member. TOUR MEMBERS - We will cast four Tour Members in total. Some will also play other supporting roles in the play. These are smaller roles with just a handful of lines. These would be ideal for someone new to acting who would like to have the experience of doing a play, but would prefer a smaller role with less responsibility and memorization. Long Form, Short Form, and Musical Improv Auditions

Announcing Imposters Theater's Summer 2025 Improv Auditions Auditions will take place Sunday, July 13th 12-5 PM at 4828 Lorain Avenue in Ohio City, Cleveland. *DETAILS* Each person will be assigned a timeslot within that 5-hour block. Callbacks, if necessary, will be Monday, July 14th 7-10 PM. All auditioners will be notified of our decision by Wednesday, July 16th.
