PRODUCTION TEASER After signing the United States Constitution in 1787, the 81-year-old Benjamin Franklin was asked what form of government he and his fellow framers had created. He famously replied, “A republic—if you can keep it.” The musical Frankly Ben Franklin explores the personal journey that led to that historic moment. In 1788, Franklin is at work on his autobiography when his memories—and regrets—come vividly to life. He revisits the triumphs that made him a legend: Poor Richard’s Almanack, the kite-flying experiment, his service as postmaster, and his tireless work on behalf of the colonies. But he is also forced to confront the costs of a life devoted to public service, including his painful estrangement from his son William, who remained loyal to the Crown, and his long absences from his beloved wife, Debby, during years spent representing America in Europe. Guided by the wry wisdom of Poor Richard and the steady presence of Debby, Franklin embarks on a deeply human journey of reflection, reckoning, and self-discovery. By placing a founding father face-to-face with his own triumphs and regrets, Frankly Ben Franklin asks what it truly costs—and what it truly means—to help build a nation. Cleveland Chamber Choir: Love in Bloom

On February 6-8, 2026, join the region's premier professional choir, the Cleveland Chamber Choir, for "Love in Bloom," an enchanting evening of music inspired by romance and nature, including music by Benjamin Britten, Tōru Takemitsu, Eric Whitacre, Morten Lauridsen and Brandon Waddles. Local high school choirs will join the performances, as part of the choir’s continuing commitment to education and providing invaluable experiences to future generations of musicians. These choirs will be the Kent Theodore Roosevelt High School Choir, a choir from University School, Cleveland, and a 28-voice honor choir comprising students from seven Ashtabula high schools. A portion of all donations collected in Kent and Cleveland will be directed to Heights Tree People, helping them further their mission of urban forestry and environmental stewardship. At the Ashtabula performance, a portion of donations collected will be directed towards Grand River Conservation Campus. Whether you’re a lifelong lover of choral music or simply looking for a memorable way to celebrate the upcoming Valentine’s Day Holiday, Love in Bloom promises to be a night of beauty, harmony, and giving back. Charles Edward McGuire, PhD, from Oberlin College & Conservatory, will present a pre-concert talk 45 minutes prior to each performance. Paid Vocal Work Available Right Now; Record Soprano, Alto, Bass Chorus parts for a "New" Musical

"Just A Play," the role-reversal crisis of a Broadway theatre critic and a Broadway playwright, is being submitted for a Staged Reading in Dallas TX. It was originally produced at A Premiere Playhouse in Columbus, and has recently had songs added and the script expanded. Cleveland's Bill Corcoran, Theatre in the Circle's producer and music director, has created the orchestrations. Pay is $20/hour for reading the script (one hour), learning the music and making the recordings and any revisions that might be needed, using your own recording devices on your own time. Singers keep track of their hours and give me a "time sheet." We also have singers sign an independent contractor agreement and a waiver form so you understand how the recordings are being used. You need two devices - one for playback and one for recording. You listen to the master orchestra track on headphones on one device while you are recording your voice on the other device. You email me the recordings which are then mixed in Audacity with the other vocals and the orchestration . In order to meet the submission deadline, I need the recordings by Jan. 24 or earlier in case there are any revisions needed. If you're interested and available, please email me a short demo of an uptempo and a ballad selection from the Classic Broadway repertoire as well as your performance resume. Thanks so much.
