BlueWater Chamber Orchestra to perform March 28 at Church of the Covenant

BlueWater Chamber Orchestra, under the baton of Artistic Director Daniel Meyer, continues its 16th season on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 7:30 pm at the Church of the Covenant, 11205 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland. The concert, titled Bohemian Rhapsody, features pianist Antonio Pompa-Baldi performing Kabalevsky’s Piano Concerto No. 4, Op. 99, “Prague.” Also included on the program are Janáček’s Suite for Strings and Mozart’s Symphony No.38 in D Major, K.504, “Prague.” Tickets for the concert are Pay-What-You-Wish, allowing anyone interested to attend. This missing piece of the unfinished book series about Lady Abernathy, a Victorian medium, and her determined adversary, Detective Howells, was written by the author's grandson, based off of notes he found secreted away. Daphne is sure that Brian Chance's play will bring the adoring (and paying) audience back to the place that meant so much to her father. That is, if her actors and tech crew can follow the script and get their lives together.

The production runs from May 22 through June 13. The production is directed by Brint Learned, musical direction by Alex Ulle and choreography by Sarah Gordon. The show is rated 13+ for content. There are roles available for adults ages 18 and up. Auditions for “Urinetown the Musical” are Saturday, Mar. 14, from 6 to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Mar. 15 from 2 to 5 p.m. “Urinetown, the Musical” is a comedic satire of populism, bureaucracy, politics and musical theater itself. In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage has led to a ban on private toilets. A hero emerges and leads them all to freedom The second production for the summer, “Stepping Out”, is a rollicking comedy about the attempts of some working class amateurs to overcome their inhibitions and left feet in a dance studio in North London. Coupled with dramas all along the way, this motley group must be whipped into shape for their recital. “Stepping Out” is written by Richard Harris and will be directed by Ann Hedger. Production dates are June 19 through July 3, and the show is rated for general audiences. There are roles available for actors ages 18 and up. Auditions are Saturday, Mar. 14, 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Mar. 15, from 1 to 3 p.m. Actors auditioning for a “Urinetown, the Musical” should prepare to sing 32 measures of a Broadway-style song from memory. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist in a binder. No pre-recorded accompaniment or CD tracks. Actors auditioning for “Stepping Out” do not need to prepare a monologue as actors will read sides from the script. Actors should dress business casual (jeans are acceptable, no sweatpants). Auditions for “Stepping Out” are at Rabbit Run Community Arts Association, 49 Park St., Madison, OH. Talespinner Children’s Theatre Presents The Lion , the Witch, and the Wardrobe Talespinner Children’s Theatre (TCT) presents a unique two-actor adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, dramatized by Le Clanché du Rand. This imaginative production brings the epic world of Narnia to life through inventive storytelling, movement, and performance, highlighting themes of courage, kindness, and the triumph of good over evil. Performances run March 14–22, 2026, at TCT’s immersive theatre space at 78th Street Studios (1305 W. 80th St., Suite 214, Cleveland). “This condensed retelling invites audiences to step into Narnia through the memories of Peter and Lucy, blending narration with action in a way that feels both playful and magical,” says Director A’Rhyan Samford. “As the siblings journey together, the story reminds us of the power of curiosity, connection, and shared storytelling.” The production stars Jasmine Nichelle and John Williams, who portray multiple beloved characters throughout the story. Jasmine Nichelle, is a recent BFA Acting graduate of Ithaca College. Williams, holds an MFA in Shakespeare and Performance from Mary Baldwin University and has appeared in regional productions across the country. Both are Actor-Teacher with Great Lakes Theater, and making their TCT debuts. Taught by CSU Faculty and located at CSU Arts Campus at Playhouse Square, Odyssey offers teens (age 13-18) a unique experience in learning the skills and techniques of Filmmaking. 5-Day Film Challenge – June 7 – June 12 — Each student joins a crew and creates an original film. Filmmakers Intensive (Two-week program) -- June 14 – June 26 — Each student makes their own film from concept to scriptwriting to directing to postproduction. Acting and Directing -- July 13 - July 17 — Each student learns film acting and directing, collaborating on each other’s projects and performances. Animation -- July 13 - July 17 — Students learn the fundamentals of animation, including timing, movement, and visual rhythm, to bring drawings and characters to life.
