Kent Trumbull Theatre Sips & Scripts Call for Submissions

Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Colleauges, Kent Trumbull Theatre is announcing its call for submissions for its 2026/2027 Sips & Scripts Reading Series. Submissions are open immediately and run until Jul 15. We are looking for playscripts (no musicals this cycle) of over 45 minutes in length that we could cast with fewer than 12 people. These are seated, concert style readings, so style and genre can vary widely. Submissions from youth playwrights must be accompanied by parental authorization and contact information. Seat of the Pants is proud to host the fourth installment of our Salon Series with a public reading of David Hansen's new play, FORGET ABOUT ME (The Breakfast Club Play), directed by Katherine Nash, produced by Michael Glavan, and starring Jeannine Gaskin and Diwe Augustin-Glave. Moms and her high school senior, Dots, spend another pandemic night at home. Cake is baked, drugs are consumed, and lines are crossed, while they debate teen movies, whether or not John Bender is the villain, and wait for that thick envelope. The Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation is excited to launch the new Sunday schedule for the World On Stage concert series at the Centennial Peace Plaza, and we’re kicking it off with a special Flag Day Celebration on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. 🇺🇸 Flag Day Celebration – June 14 This free event commemorates the adoption of the United States flag on June 14, 1777, by the Second Continental Congress. It’s a heartfelt celebration of community, heritage, and unity, featuring patriotic presentations and multicultural performances from local groups that reflect the diverse cultures of Northeast Ohio. The Cleveland Jazz Orchestra returns with the CJO Little Big Band presenting a tribute to the late Ken Peplowski, who passed away suddenly on February 2, 2026. Peplowski, a Cleveland area native, returned to perform regularly in Northeast Ohio, but was loved and respected around the world as a preeminent saxophonist and clarinetist. The performance will feature special guest Mark Vinci on saxophone.
