About Bob Patetta Bob Patetta is a singer-songwriter specializing in blues, rock and folk, and has been performing and recording on guitar, harmonica and vocals for over 50 years. Born and raised in New Jersey where he started out singing and playing in rock bands, he has also worked extensively along the Gulf Coast of Florida, playing harmonica and washboard with Rosie O’Grady’s Dixieland Band in Pensacola, guitar and blues harp in the greater Tampa area and in Ohio since 1990. He is currently performing with the Hot Potatoes band, as well as making many solo appearances. He is also known for making a joyful noise on Sunday mornings at many Unity and UCC churches in the area.

This is her big break and she’s determined and quirky. The suspects have disdain for her because she has ticketed them all. Knows nothing about theatre. (FEMALE; G3-F#5) *Clarke Staples - Stage Manager Has been working as a stage manager, assistant director, assistant to the director, box office manager, concessions, barback, and typist for Varthur for ten years. Beleaguered and loyal, could they have finally snapped? (ANY; A3-G4) *Shea Crescendo - Production Designer Works at theatre full-time - costumes, sets; a visionary with too few resources. Shea goes all the way with everything they do, whether they’re designing a show or playing a role in a murder mystery dinner party. It’s all or nothing for Shea. (ANY; E3-F5) *Vivika Orsonwelles - Leading Lady Pharmacist by day, star by night. When she finds out Varthur cast Lily, an ambitious upstart, as the lead in the murder mystery dinner party instead of her, she is fuming. Is she mad enough to take revenge? (FEMALE; G3-C#5) *Lily Wright - Ingenue Real Estate Broker by day and aspiring leading lady by night. She’s tired of playing second fiddle to Vivika. She wants her own spotlight and tonight she’s finally gotten it. (FEMALE; G3-D5) *George Murderer - Leading Man A trust-fund kid who fancies himself a musical theatre writer. In fact, he believes he has written the next HAMILTON. The Artistic Director has been shrining him along, taking his family’s money, making him think that they would be doing his musical next. When the cast list went out and it wasn’t for his musical, he was livid. (MALE; Db3-C#5) *Cameron Mitchelljohn - Always in the Chorus Cameron took off work tonight - as a caterer/waiter - because Varthur promised him a role in the murder mystery. Only, lo and behold, he’s playing the mute steward - so he’s still taking coats, serving canapés, and waiting for his moment to shine. (MALE; A2-A4) *Joan McArthur - Director’s Wife An estate lawyer who prefers to work with dead people, Joan has bankrolled this entire theatre venue and she’s fed up. She’s been trying to sell the building and everything they own goes to her in Varthur’s will. (FEMALE; F3-E5) *Jeremy Jordan A fantasy version of the Broadway star. (MALE; Eb3-C5) *Detective Case A latter day version of Justine, now a grand dame of policework who is alternately procrastinating and writing her memoirs. A graduate of Cleveland State University's School of Communication, he studied film and television production. In 2007, Swinderman wrote and directed the short film, Clean, about a man of god dealing with his inner demons. The film received positive reviews and was awarded Best Picture at the Cleveland Grindhouse Film Festival. Swinderman followed up with The Anniversary, and award-winning short film which won the Cleveland Plain Dealer's 2009 Scary Film Competition. The film, written and directed by Swinderman, screened at the Cleveland Truly Independent Film Festival and stars Deanna Cechowski and Thom Cechowski. In 2012, Swinderman produced Made in Cleveland, an anthology of 11 short films by multiple different Cleveland directors and stars Busy Philipps and Gillian Jacobs. The film opened in limited theatrical release to wide critical acclaim. In 2018, Swinderman wrote and directed the independent film The Enormity of Life, starring Breckin Meyer and Emily Kinney which is an official selection in the Beverly Hills Film Festival, 2019. The film features music from Avett Brothers and Kodaline and is currently represented by Shoreline Entertainment in Los Angeles. Koch’s “The War of the Worlds” script, based on the H.G. Wells novel. It became a legendary broadcast for using a ‘faux newscast’ style that tricked some listeners into thinking aliens had actually invaded. It also secured Welles’ place as a master of theatre. CVLT will be staging a radio-style reading of the original script, complete with ‘live sound effects’, on the River Street Playhouse stage.
