This coming Thursday, 25th Feb, Scottish jazz vocalist, Carol Leslie, will perform with her trio at the Bop Stop@The Music Settlement, 7pm - 8.15pm, via a livestream event on Facebook. This is a FREE event, but of course donations are always welcomed to support this non-profit’s mission to provide music therapy for children, and to support musicians during the Pandemic. It can take a minute or two for the video to appear once you click - just enough time to pour a sip or two to sit back and relax, as you anticipate the weekend! Jazz, contemporary, pop, there’ll be something for everyone in Carol’s repertoire. Many of you have seen Carol perform at the Bop Stop, the legendary Night Town restaurant, or the Music Box, and she is sure to please accompanied by Ed Ridley on keys, Jeffrey Slater on bass, and Ricky Exton on drums - all three are educators, and part of the mainstay of the local jazz scene in NE Ohio. STORY DRAMA VIRTUAL THEATRE CLASSES Chagrin Valley Little Theatre will be offering online sessions with instructor Gabbi Capello in Spring 2021. These sessions will involve creating stories through role play, improvising, acting and reading aloud. Art of Reading Book Club Shaker Arts Council (SHAC) announces The Art of Reading Book Club. The saying goes “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Come spend a cozy and casual evening discussing an eclectic mix of books with art related storylines, explore the images they showcase and the times they reflect. Pre read the book or just join for the experience of connecting with fellow art lovers. Margaret Reardon will lead the discussions. Meetings will be held the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm as a part of Stay-in-Place Productions, the arts council’s response to COVID -19. This program is free and open to everyone. Students will participate in a variety of games and activities in each session. Have a pair of scissors and some newsprint or paper you can stuff in a shoe. The only purchase you may need to make is for 2 rolls of 2” clear wrapping tape.
