About the Film A young woman Rooney a newly recovered addict, is tested by her deceased partner on the anniversary of their death to get intoxicated trying to cope with the circumstance of their death. Characters Rooney is a lates 20s woman who is stubborn but independent, someone who is an addict trying very hard to change but is weak to the influences around her. Malcolm/Mia is Rooneys partner and has dealt with Rooneys addict behavior for years and just wants her to stop because he/she knows that Rooney can be better she just struggles. About the Director As a new director I am a driven hardworking film student looking to gain as much experience as I can before graduating and build those strong relationships with the arts community. I relish in the opportunities to work with new people and create an openly creative set and experience all around. The sex of the partner character does not matter to the overall narrative so male or female can be cast in this role. The shoot is to begin in March so respond ASAP to receive script and start getting familiar with eh character and the dialogue. The partner character only has a few scenes int eh film but is very very important to the emotional core of the film.

Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) continues its live-streamed concert series with Cleveland-based vocalist Dane Vannatter on February 14, 2021, at 2 pm. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Vannatter will sing the romantic songs of Cole Porter, George and Ira Gershwin and other songwriters of the Great American Songbook. About Dane Vannatter Dane Vannatter is the recipient of two Bistro Awards from BackStage in New York, for Outstanding Vocalist and for his second CD Flight. Dane has been acclaimed by reviewers at The New York Post, The Boston Globe and BackStage for a style that “blends facets of cabaret and jazz with intelligence and care.” The Boston Globe remarks “Dane Vannatter’s distinctive style leaves an imprint on whatever music he sings. Joe Hunter has been playing piano professionally since 1978 and his versatility has garnered him work with an array of artists. He attended Cleveland State University where a 1979 exchange program in Rio De Janeiro fueled his fascination for Brazilian rhythms. He returned to Brazil in 1981 to study at the Universidade Gamma Filho. From 1987 to 1996 he served on the Conservatory of Music faculty at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, He has performed with many national artists including Conti Condoli, Tito Puente, and Scott Hamilton, and is a favorite at many JazzFest events. Joe has been with the Tri-C Jazz Studies program for several years and is co-host of the popular Song Is You! Series produced by Tri-C JazzFest.

HINDSIGHT 2020: A YEAR IN RETROSPECT CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS The Access Theatre Project is excited to announce that it is now accepting submissions for its “monologue festival” entitled Hindsight 2020: A Year in Retrospect! The festival will feature original monologues written and submitted by artists and residents of Northeast Ohio and will be presented as a reflection on the events of the past year. The monologues will be filmed in significant locations around Northeast Ohio and will be made available for viewing in Mid-April. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: - Submission Deadline: March 8th, 2021 at 11:55PM; accepted by email: accesstheatreproject(a)gmail.com. Chosen applicants will be notified by March 15th, 2021. - Monologues should be 1-10 minutes in length. - We are seeking submissions of original, unpublished, not previously produced monologues about personal life events that took place in the past 12 months. - Writers are encouraged to draw upon their own personal experiences, or the experiences of a loved one, for subject matter. Examples of monologue subjects we are looking for include: Personal experience with COVID-19, loss of a loved one, teaching/dating/relationships/holidays during COVID-19, healthcare and frontline work in 2020, attending a peaceful protest, creating art/collaborating during the pandemic, voting/participating in the 2020 election, or any other life experiences that YOU have gone through this past year that you feel compelled to share. Comedic monologues on any of these subjects are strongly encouraged--”always look on the bright side of life”! - Monologues should be written in a first-person narrative format (as you might find in a play). - Submissions may contain musical elements, but writers should be aware that the licensing rights to any songs used within monologues shall be paid by the monologue writer themselves. Original songs within monologues are also welcome. - By submitting your monologue(s), you grant The Access Theatre Project permission to record and perform it for Hindsight 2020: A Year in Retrospect.
