Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) is lining up our concert schedule for 2022. We are seeking professional musicians from a variety of genres for the following: One-hour live stream or pre-recorded streaming concerts ($150 honorarium) for: January 9, February 13, March 13 and April 10 from 2-3 pm. One-hour outdoor Concerts in the Country to be held at ORMACO's home- HeARTland, 8187 Camp Road, Homerville, OH 44235 ($150 honorarium) for: May 15, June 12, July 10, Aug. 14, September 11 and October 9. One-hour concerts at the Homerville Community Center Auditorium for: November 13 and December 11 ($150 honorarium). We are also lining up Jazz under the Stars, which takes place at Medina's Uptown Park Gazebo from 7 to 9 pm. THE WESTERN RESERVE PLAYHOUSE IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE: AUDITIONS FOR *FRAGMENTS OF FARCE:* *A Night of Comedic Sketches by Anton Chekhov* A virtual production with WRP Connect By Anton Chekhov Directed by August Scarpelli *From a man whose speech about the evils of tobacco turns into a complaint about his overbearing wife; to a man and a widow whose argument over money turns into a duel to the death, and also falling in love; and with a finale of an aged stage actor and a servant discussing the life of theatre, these comedies about the errors of being human are sure to brighten up this dreary winter. All performed in one night, “On the Harmful Effects of Tobacco,” “The Bear,” and “The Swan Song” by Anton Chekhov will run about an hour.* We are looking for a diverse group of actors to portray these characters and bring these stories to life virtually. This show will encourage fluidity in gender, race, and age. *Virtual auditions* will be held via Zoom on *Thursday, 1/14/2021 *from 7pm-10pm and *Saturday, 1/16/2021 *from 1pm-4pm. Email august(a)thewrp.org for a 15-minute audition slot. When you have secured a slot, you will receive a response about the link to the Zoom meeting. Please prepare one approximately 90-second speech from Chekhov or one of his contemporaries (i.e. plays from about 1860-1910). If you are not able to attend one of the above audition times, pre-recorded auditions will be accepted to august(a)thewrp.org no later than Sunday, 1/17/2021 @ 7pm. *Performance Dates* will be February 19th and 20th, at 7:30pm each night. Each night of shows will be live-streamed through Zoom. *Production Schedule:* We will be rehearsing weekdays (typically 7pm-10pm) and potentially weekend afternoons, depending on the actor's availability. Dear Neohiopal Subscribers, The last year has been difficult for everyone - both personally and professionally. As individual artists we have seen our work dry up. Whether we depend upon performing arts opportunities for our income, or whether it serves as an avocation - the hole it has created in our lives runs deep. For many arts organizations the loss of creating and presenting in person events has created a crisis that puts your very existence in jeopardy. You have bravely created many online opportunities for education and performance, while struggling to figure out how to economically maintain your staff and facility. The good news is that with the arrival of vaccines the end is in sight. When will we be able to normalize again? Projections run from the middle of this year to the beginning of 2022, but no one really knows for sure. With this (hopefully) once in a century pause in our work, Neohiopal has delayed the start of our usual January campaign for donations. We will start the campaign in February. It will be different this year. Rather than post several times a week for a month there will be only two posts. Once on February 1st and once on February 28th. With the hardships you are all in the middle of - no worries at all if you need to skip your donation this year. Stay safe.
