The July event will feature a variety of twelve 10 minute plays that are the finalists from over 65 international plays submitted to Dover Players. Six plays will be performed on Fri., July 19 at 8:00 pm and six plays will be performed on Sat., July 20 at 8:00 pm. The top three plays as voted by the audience from the Fri. and Sat. night performances will compete on Sun., July 21 at 3:00 pm and the play with the majority votes will win the competition. CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM PRESENTS THE OHIO PREMIERE OF TOM AT THE FARM by Michel Marc Bouchard, translated by Linda Gaboriau OPENING FRI, JULY 12 Convergence-continuum presents Ohio premiere of _Tom at the Farm _by Michel Marc Bouchard, translated by Linda Gaboriau, opening Friday, July 12. This psycho-sexual thriller is the third play in con-con’s 2019 Season: Star-Crossed. Following the accidental death of his lover, urban junior ad executive, Tom, travels from the city to a remote farm in rural Ontario for the funeral. There he finds a religious family who knows nothing of his existence, and is blindsided by his lost boyfriend’s legacy of untruth. The mother is expecting a girlfriend, and his dead boyfriend’s brother is hell-bent on preserving a facade of “normalcy.” This causes some pretty humorous moments when Tom’s gal-pal shows up; however, the brother’s obsession also brings him to draw Tom into a twisted and brutal sexually-charged game to coerce Tom into joining the lies, until Tom finally confronts the torment that drove his lover to live in the shadows of deceit. _ _ ____ _ _ _Tom at the Farm _is directed by convergence-continuum’s Tom Kondilas. Members of the acting ensemble are Mike Frye, Daniel McElhany, Laura Starnik and Madelyn Voltz. _Tom at the Farm _opens Friday, July 12 and runs Thu-Sat at 8 p.m. through August 3 at the Liminis Theater, 2438 Scranton Rd., Cleveland 44113 in the historic Tremont neighborhood.
