FREE WORKSHOP WITH THE CLEVELAND CORE ENSEMBLE<https://www.cptonline.org/cleveland-core-ensemble/> Cleveland Public Theatre's (CPT) in-house devising ensemble This three day workshop with Raymond Bobgan, Darius J. Stubbs, and Faye Hargate is focused on physical work of the actor, our approach to voice and song, and actor creation. This session will also function as a selection session for future work. This is a way for performers to get to know us and our way of working. This is also a way to test out the potential for performers to be successful in this process and style of work. Free workshop/selection sessions will be held on the evenings of March 25, 27, and 28 (6:30-10:30p). Participants are expected to attend all three sessions. Participation in this workshop is by application only. Actors may apply by sending a resume and a "one page email" stating the reasons why they are interested in working with Raymond Bobgan and the Cleveland Core Ensemble. Also let us know if you are interested in being considered for the development phase listed below, or if you would not like to be included in consideration. We will reply to applications in 48 hours after receipt and applications must be received no later than 3/21. DEVELOPMENT PHASE of Masks of Flight, a new work of the Cleveland Core Ensemble. Rehearsals will go from April 7 - June 2 and include public showings near the end of the process, and possibly showings at Station Hope on May 4. Rehearsals are in the evenings on weekdays, and during the day and evenings on the weekends, with an average of 25 hours of rehearsal per week. There are no rehearsals the week of April 22-26. DEVELOPMENT PHASE of Masks of Flight is not yet fully defined. That said, here are standard notifications and disclosures about potential topics: * There may be flying, stage combat/violence, and other highly physical work which involve greater risk than a typical performance. * Costumes have not yet been designed and though nudity is not anticipated, some scenes may include revealing costumes. Consent will be requested based on this at the time of design. * Our rehearsal methods may involve significant touching and contact improv-no hands to breast, booty, or groin without discussion and consent. * Currently we are planning intimate scenes which will be developed without a certified intimacy choreographer. We will seek and implement best practices in this work. * There may be topics in the material that are very disturbing including sexual violence, racisim, sexism and other forms of oppression and violence. * Participation in this work is not a guarantee of inclusion in future development phases of this work. Actors will be offered an honorarium of $450 for their work on this project. AUDITIONS: The Turn of the Screw, a psychological thriller

East Cleveland Theater is hosting auditions for “The Turn of the Screw”, adapted by James L Seay, from Henry James’ novella of the same name. *Director: Michael Lenzo* Winner of three 2018 Broadway World Awards, including Best Director, Best Scenic Design, and Best Sound Design. *Synopsis:* “The Turn of the Screw” revolves around a new American governess hired to care for two American children in and old English estate. Ghosts from the past are not content with the status quo, but not everyone is ready to acknowledge the ghosts. *The Roles:* (Ages listed are somewhat flexible.) *Flora**: *Girl, 12 to 16 years old Flora, an American, is young and pretty ... carefree. She becomes fast friends with the new governess, Ann, and is best friends with her brother Miles. She is not sure about knowing about the ghosts at the beginning of the show, but eventually falls victim to them. A fairly large role. *Miles**: *Boy, 12 to 16 years old Miles, an American, is wise for his years. An easy going, but troubled young man, Miles knows more than he is willing to talk about. He is expelled from school for trying to convince others that the ghosts are real. He is somewhat flirtatious with Ann, the new Governess. A medium size role. *Miss Jessel**: *Female, 20s to 30s Miss Jessel was the former governess to the children. She also had an affair with Peter Quint, the former valet in the house. Having died "unexplainably", she has returned to take possession of the children. This is a non-speaking role. *NOTE: Because Miss Jessel is a non-speaking role, your presence at any rehearsals before Tech Week would be voluntary. All blocking for your role can be given to you on Tech Sunday.* *Mary**: *Female, 30s to 40s Mary is a maid, the newest member of the staff after having been recently employed at Bly House, where all the action takes place. She sees that everyday tasks are taken care of and is there to help Ann, the Governess, in any way. She is not real sure if she believes in the specters, that appear in the house, or not. *Bridget**: *Female, 40s to 60s She has been at Bly House for years and sees to the everyday running of the household. She wants to be Ann’s, the new Governess, friend, and will do what she can to make Ann feel more at home. Bridget is English. Bridget is a small role, and rehearsals will be a minimum. *Dr. Powery**: *Female, 30s to 60s Dr. Beverly Powery is a physician, a professional country doctor that is summoned to care for the Ann, the new Governess, after she is found unconscious on the floor. In her limited experience with such an occurrence, she is not sure of the cause. *Audition Dates:* *Auditions are by appointment only.* Thursday, March 14, from 5 to 7pm. Saturday, March 16, from 5 to 7pm. Sunday, March 17, from 4 to 6pm. Only those roles listed are available. All ethnicities considered, and the stated age ranges can be somewhat flexible. Auditioners should be prepared to read from the script. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Auditions for Rabbit Run Theater's 2019 Youth Production, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Jr" There is still time to make an audition appointment for the 2019 Youth Production at Rabbit Run Theater in Madison, Ohio. The Youth Production for the summer is "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Jr.", which runs July 11, 12, and 13. With music and lyrics by Richard M. and Robert B. Sherman, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Jr." tells the story of an eccentric inventor, Caractacus Potts. Potts sets about restoring an old race car from a scrap heap with the help of his children, Jeremy and Jemima. They soon discover the car has magical properties, including the ability to float and take flight. Trouble occurs when the evil Baron Bomburst desires the magic car for himself. The production is directed and musically directed by Victoria Larrabee with choreography by Stephen Sandham. Auditions are Saturday, Mar. 16, from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, Mar. 17, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Rabbit Run Community Arts Association, 49 Park St., Madison. There are multiple roles available for youth, male and female, ages 7 to 17. Actors auditioning should prepare to sing from memory 16 measures of a Broadway-style song or a song from "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Jr." Please bring sheet music for the accompanist in a binder. No pre-recorded accompaniment or CD tracks. No monologue need be prepared as actors will read sides from the script. Actors should dress for movement. Auditions are by appointment only. What: an AUDITION (open to all) for few different film or video projects at Cuyahoga Comm. College (all to be shot in March and April). Event details on social media: https://www.facebook.com/events/1218947114945965/ ____________________________________ (read everything below to get complete details) PROJECT – “DOCUMENTARY INTERVIEW”: for documentary style INTERVIEW, you (ACTOR or ARTIST of any kind) will be interviewed about your work and career (the questions will be submitted in advance to those who are selected at the audition). If interested to be interviewed, you must attend our audition March 22, and introduce yourself and your creative work. An interview-shooting day is March 29. Later, you can use this video for your personal sites and publicity. PROJECT – “DRAMATIC MONOLOGUE”: for this project, selected actors will prepare dramatic monologue or performance. Prepare a 1-2 minutes monologue (must be original written content or public domain story) and attend our audition March 22. Those who are selected will be informed the same day, and the shooting day is March 29. PROJECT – SHORT FILM or MUSIC VIDEO: you will audition for a LEAD ROLE in student-produced films or music videos. On March 22, you will read from our scripts (cold read), and you can also prepare a very short monologue. If you’re a recording artist, feel free to perform your song. The short film or music video shoots are scheduled for April 26. NOTE: you CAN audition for any (or all) of these projects above. __________________________________ These projects will be produced by Cuyahoga Community College's beginner level film students (an "Intro to Filmmaking" class, taught by Prof. Bruno Tatalovic). Several students who completed this course in previous years – are now proud graduates of Tri-C, and newly established Cleveland film artists, videographers, and crew members on big union films shot in Ohio! :) WHERE: Tri-C Campus in Parma, Ohio (park in "visitor"; walk to central campus area); If lost, ask police officers in hallways to show you G107 room. WHO SHOULD COME: This type of collaboration is perfect for beginner (or intermediate) level actors who need more footage for their first demo-reel. By having a Demo Reel, you will be able to seek industry representation (agent). ABOUT PROJECTS: each of these projects give you a lot of screen time and dialogue or monologue lines. They are all LEAD roles. These are unpaid (collaboration) gigs. Get your first credit, your demo footage, and establish new relationships with like-minded content creators. Also, if you have NO screen acting experience, but you truly BELIEVE that you have what it takes - COME and try out! TIMELINE: These projects are 1-day (half a day) shoots. The work must be fully edited by early May. The videos will be available online when completed and you can ask students for HD download copy. AUDITION: It's a “walk-in” audition (cold read from our scripts or short personal monologue - if desired). Just show up any time between 9:15am and 12:30pm, and you will be seen. Hello NEOhioPAL! Playmakers Youth Theatre is holding auditions for Catch Me If You Can, our last show of the season, next Monday 3/18 at Mandel JCC in Beachwood. These will be held from 6-9pm. Please plan to stay the whole time. We hold these auditions like a callback. Meaning, you will read from the script, sing from the score, and dance. Please prepare by being familiar with the story and knowing the songs from the Broadway show. This show is open to students in grades 8-12. Show dates are May 16 and 19. "Forever Plaid" Auditions at Rabbit Run

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Auditions for Rabbit Run Theater's "Forever Plaid" Audition appointments are now being taken for the musical "Forever Plaid" at Rabbit Run Theater in Madison, Ohio. "Forever Plaid" a musical originally written, directed and choreographed by Stuart Ross, runs from May 31 through June 15. The production is directed by Ann Hedger. Musical direction is by Danielle Jones and choreography is by Hannah Green. There are four roles available for men, ages 18 to 35. Four young men, Sparky, Smudge, Jinx and Frankie share a love for music. Rehearsing in the basement of Smudge's family's plumbing supply company, they become "Forever Plaid". This musical revue is chock-full of nostalgic 1950's hits performed with classic barbershop quartet harmonies. Auditions for "Forever Plaid" are Friday, Mar. 22, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, Mar. 23 from 3 to 6 p.m. Actors auditioning should prepare to sing 16 measures of a Broadway-style song from memory.
