The Movement Project Pre-Professional Summer Intensive Audition in Medina! The Movement Project will be hosting an audition at Dancexcel in Medina February 22nd for dancers aged 12-18 to take part in this year’s summer intensive July 29th-August 3rd. This one week intensive is geared for serious-minded dancers interested in furthering themselves as creative artists and who wish to deepen and grow their technical and performance knowledge. This intensive provides a rigorous daily schedule in professional training, creative practice and rehearsals taught by TMP artistic directors, company members, as well as notable guest artists in the dance community. The program will focus on modern dance technique, contemporary, ballet, improvisation, composition, injury prevention and somatic practices. In addition to movement courses, the program includes courses designed to prepare young artists for a career in dance such as, resume building, dance on film and marketing. Pam will be auditioning dancers for her upcoming project Recital #1 (five small dances for Cleveland). Dr. Hutton has a Masters Degree and Doctorate of Music Arts degrees in Vocal Pedagogy (Science of Singing) from Arizona State University, and is fluent in teaching both belting/music theatre technique and classical technique. Christopher attended Youngstown State University where he received his Bachelors in Voice Performance. He has also performed opera at regional opera houses for over thirteen years. Truck on over to see "Hands on a Hardbody" at Hudson Players this weekend!

Don't miss Hudson Players' Northeast Ohio theatre premiere of "Hands on a Hardbody" Performances continue this weekend...including a 2:00 p.m. Sunday matinee! Featuring a tuneful country-rock score and soulful lyrics by Phish's Trey Anastasio and Amanda Green, and a story by Doug Wright, this awesome new musical was nominated for three Tony awards in 2013, including best musical score. The show is based on a real-life event chronicled in a 1997 documentary film of the same name. Last weekend, some of the cast from the Perrysburg Musical Theatre Company (near Toledo) production of "Hands on a Hardbody" staged last May made a road trip to Hudson to see their counterparts and re-live the fun. Young actors auditioning for these roles should have the “appearance” of being able to pull off these ages, but slightly older actors for these roles are ideal. Height will play an important part of casting in these circumstances, and between 4 feet and 5 feet is definitely the sweet spot. No young actors under the age of 8 will be seen for thisproduction. It is possible that the role of Matilda may be double cast.* *The remainder of the cast ranges between 16 and 55. A technique for bringing life to boring copy (no, it's not talking louder!). And much more. Discovering what voiceover really is, and developing skills that clients will want to pay you for - that's our journey. This is career training. It is NOT a place for you to "try" voiceover because "it always seemed like fun." We're not dipping toes in the water here; we're forging a new future for you. Who is teaching this?
