Hello everyone, I am looking for pictures/snapshots of the Pavillion and the old refreshment stand at Painesville Township Park ca. 1920-1960. I have visited the Historical Society and the Library out there and they have nothing, so I wonder if any of you have rescued and are storing pics of these historic places among the pictures from your family's homes, aunts or uncle's apartments, wherever. LCCC Theater Program Hosts Fall Play Auditions Lorain County Community College will hold auditions for the 2018 LCCC Theatre Program fall production "The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail," from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9 and from 7-9 p.m. Monday, Sept.10 at the Stocker Arts Center's Cirigliano Studio Theatre. The production will run Friday through Sunday, November 15-17. Rehearsals will begin October 1. The play was written by Cleveland native Jerome Lawrence and Elyria native Robert E. Lee and will be directed by Sarah May. Cast: * Two young men, 18-30: to play Henry David Thoreau and his brother John. * Three character actors: to play Ralph Waldo Emerson, Bailey the town vagrant, and Deacon Ball. * Two character women: to play Henry's mother and Mrs. Lydian Emerson. * One young boy, age 8-11, to play young Edward Emerson, and other roles. * One African American actor or actress: to play escaped slave, Williams, and other roles. * One young woman, 17-28: to play Helen Seward. * A versatile and energetic ensemble of actors and actresses, ages 8-80, to play townspeople, soldiers, church members, pallbearers, the choir, the town drunk, the town sheriff, farmers, merchants and Abe Lincoln. Auditions are open to all LCCC students and staff, as well as actors from the community. Actors will be asked to read from the script. Attention Theater Directors Medina County Show Biz Company is looking for directors for our 2019/2020 season! On Saturday, September 22, beginning at 4:00PM we would like to invite you to share your vision for a show you would like to direct. This will be held on our stage so you can see what we have to offer you as well. We are located in the Haddad Theater inside the Medina County Administration Building at 144 N. Western Reserve playhouse is thrilled to be bringing to its stage “Terms of Endearment”, adapted for the stage by Dan Gordon and based on the Oscar-winning film by James L. Brooks. This wonderful play runsAugust 17-September 1, 2018(Fridays & Saturdays at 8PM; with a 2PM Matinee on Sunday August 26th). Challenges in life and love test the resilience of a mother-daughter relationship in the stage adaptation, based on the book by Pulitzer Prize-winner Larry McMurtry and the 1983 film. Though Emma is often exasperated by her highly-opinionated mother, Aurora, they talk every day about their problems, from Aurora finding unexpected love even as she becomes a reluctant grandmother, to Emma’s struggle in her troubled marriage. When they need one another most, will they be able to find courage in each other? This funny and touching story captures the delicate, sometimes fractured bonds between mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, and lovers, both old and new. Karen Rose directs this stage adaptation of the emotional movie, filled with tenderness and comedy. This show features the amazing acting works of Kerry Scanlon, Annette Fernandez, Craig Webb, Corey East, Lisa Rupple, and Austin Sasser.
